Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Immigrants are no longer welcome in Donald Trump’s America. Instead, the Republican presidential nominee posited that under his potential second administration, he would round up and mass-deport noncitizens based on their “serial numbers.”

Speaking with Full Measure’s Sharyl Attkisson, Trump argued that the United States—which was founded by and has historically been a nation of immigrants—shouldn’t be a “dumping ground” for newcomers.

They say history repeats itself, but I thought we were kinda over the holocaust thing for a few more centuries.

Well, there's a war in Europe, we had a global pandemic, and fascism is on the rise, so we're just doing an early 20th century rerun.

Of course, history doesn't exactly rhyme, which is why Israel is the one doing the holocausting this time.

You would think they, of all people would know better.

You are far too optimistic a person. They forced sterilized 25-50% of Native American women in the 60s and 70s who sought medical treatment or care, some were pre-teen. Native American women are still far more likely to be sterilized and at younger ages than non-natives.

I need to re-read the article. I thought they were talking about haitians. Are you the Vegan in the room?

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I could never be vegan, I want to enjoy my food.

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago

There are lots of tasty vegan recipes. You should try them some time. You don’t know what you’re missing out.

Some parts of the world are over it. Some parts have failed history, and are desperate to make the same mistakes again. And here the US is not even the worst offender. One wonders how Israel has forgotten 1933-1945, and tries to find an Endlösung for the Palestinian question...
