From what I hear, BG3 is great. The main complaint that I've heard about it is that Act 3 (I guess that act that wasn't part of the pre release) is a bit janky. Are any of the patches so far (or any discussed future patches) fixing things in this area? Or is it just not as much of a problem as people have said?
The game is finished and ready to play, I think that the reports of bugs are blown out of proportion having played it since launch.
There were some issues after, and you're right a lot were related to act 3. Some bad enough that made me abandon a save. But all of those things have been addressed and I've completed the game a few times now. I'd dare say it feels rather polished now, highly recommend!
Act 3 is great. It was tougher on the hardware for performances because it's so big, but patches fixed many of these problems. That was some time ago already.
I finished playing through with a friend a few weeks ago. Act 3 wasn't notably more buggy than the rest of the game for us, and most bugs we came across were fixed by a quick restart anyways.
Great game, highly recommend even if it's probably overhyped to some extent. We clocked over 100 hours in our playthrough and still want to keep playing.
From someone playing co-op, we played through Act 1 + 2 and loved it. We got to Act 3 and got very overwhelmed (esp. trying to keep party together and performance) and sort of stopped. Haven't gone back since.
