Aww they tried to hide this under the "read more" section on the listing...

$500 a week for a leaky garage and some cooling you absolutely know is not getting fixed anytime soon.

My god that’s so disgusting. These people are scum.

Yeah I had one with a non functional gas heater. They wouldn’t even remove it. Thankfully now not legal, but desperate people will accept shit sandwiches

Someone will absolutely take it, it's outer east, finding a place out there is reaching golden ticket levels.

There’s one around the corner from me with ‘windows’ made of hessian. No it isn’t a squat, or so I’m told by those who know about those. Seriously has no window glass.

Who needs cooling when you have * checks notes * no windows!

Edit - silly formatting

I'd be informing vcat and the police.

That is not in any way legal.

It's T minus 2 days until my landlord can (and almost certainly will) issue a rent increase notice, and shit like this makes me feel I'm better off putting up with whatever they charge here...

Godspeed!

If it wasn't for the fact my current place is a shithole and that I need to be closer to my parents, I would not be moving an inch in this current climate.

Mine went up 80 a week and I just accepted it. Better than trying for something in this market.

Ouccch. Yeah I'm not feeling great about it at all but I'm thinking the same. I also still have the flexibility of a month to month lease if I stay, and moving is expensive.

It also sucks as a single person as actual minimum rent doesn't go down much the further out you go, you just get a larger house, so no cost savings unless you go back into house sharing.

I'm in the same position. No fucking way am I going back to share housing. Finally having peace and quiet is worth the insane rent cost unfortunately.
