I just moved less than an hour from the eastern border with Maine. I’m from New England, and I lived in Alaska for 3 years. I’m prepped and ready. I also own like 12 parkas.

I was three years in k2k. I thought I was ready for it. I thought a walking commute down McLeod trail in t2n made me resilient and I'd do fine.

I was wrong.

Pay attention to how you're doing and don't be a hero. The weather does not care about you and it will kill you if you let it -- that's the lesson I got from the region of this country that is its namesake.

...walking up March Rd past Terry Fox, into the December wind, tears rolling down my cheeks from the wind but then freezing in place because of the cold. It was then I remembered I'd had 3 socks in my combats in Calgary and 3 layers of wool over my face (and ski goggles) so I didn't lose pieces.

Don't get weather PTSD. Be safe.
