I think I loved the idea of the story; bizarre, surreal tales are usually my favourite, but the execution in Us fell a bit flat. I like that there are a bunch of doppelgängers hanging around in tunnels/caves underground, I like that they eventually came to the surface, I don’t really care much for the mirrored personality traits (it felt like it tried to go with too many plot points whereas it should have been just a simple revenge tale), I feel like director Peele really nailed his message in Get Out, but with Us, I feel like he missed the mark completely. A very original movie but hard to live up to Get Out and I still feel a bit unclear what he wanted to say in Us.
