Everyone knows you don't buy a Civ game the first few years it's out.
As far as I'm concerned, they are still in the beta test for at least the next 2 years, then MAYBE I'll think about grabbing it.
Same with Paradox games. 4X in general is just really hard to get right on release because of how many interlinking systems there are, so waiting for balance updates at a minimum is never a bad idea.
I own 6 but still havent played it much.5, on the other hand, I still play a few hours a week.
At this point, you can get all the dlc for 5 bucks on a sale for Civ 6
But... I already have it, though. I just never play it because I am pretty happy with 5 and it runs better on my macbook.
A lot of people aren't happy with the newer civilization games. Some people didn't even like the changes they made in 5, so it's understandable.
I personally don't like the 3 age system in 7, and if they don't fix that in the next few years, then I'm not buying it at all.
