Yep, since they're so concerned about what is and is not legally posted to their servers they can walk the walk now and contact the FBI.
Downvote if you love kiddy porn.
Why do you sound vindictive
Some people are upset that Lemmy.world blocked some piracy communities.

The frustration comes from the fact that r/piracy is still up on Reddit and they specifically don't allow links or references.
So, in a way they're being much more strict than Reddit, which is a much bigger and well known site. I can understand a little bit of the frustration.

Lemmy.world is the biggest instance by quite a bit. Anything it bans sees a sharp drop in engagement. It's a death sentence to certain communities so there's something to be salty about.

I am on that instance, that doesn't change the thousands of lemmy world users who have stopped engaging with it. Even worst, I have to split my time between them, so I myself am engaging less with it even thought it was my first account.
I'm also not interested in having a dozen lemmy account and obviously neither are most folks. My viewing and commenting ends up being disjointed.
I'm like to watch lemmy as a whole grow, not just what the admins of lemmy.world deem acceptable to be mildly associated with. There was zero legal risk with being federated with dbzer0, a complete farce.
For all this talk about Reddit being shit, this is the exact kind of behavior that made it shit.
Then you shouldn't care what one community decides they don't want to locally host, and be glad that now all the competing minority instances can try to make "the" pirate Lemmy community instead of it just going to the biggest by default.

Holy fuck dude. How hard is it to understand that having one big lemmy instance and nothing else is just Reddit with extra steps. And if that instance just bans the other instance that compete with it, it's just cementing it's position.
If a community with only a couple thousand members sees a ban, 99% of its potential growth is killed the moment it loses exposure to the millions of Lemmy world users.
Right now, the admins of this instance choose which instance grow along side them. Their decisions should be critiqued when it's the wrong one.
They don't need your worship. The users create the content, they just picked a catchy name and got lucky enough to have their instance be the first in the list on the lemmy website when the migration happened.
Defederation coming from lemmy.world should be seen way more seriously and only done for the right reason, stop accepting it blindly as if you are twelve and the admin is your dad.
And again it's not about me and switching instances. It's solely about the exposure and force this place has now, and how it's already being abused. There's no just hoping on other instance and doing without when it has 1000x more members.
I'm one user, I'm trying to help Lemmy grow but all I have is an eye dropper to water the plant. Meanwhile, lemmy.world admins block out the sun when it doesn't like a plant.
Obviously there's something to be salty about. Your argument basically revolves around "if you don't like, leave" which usually points to a problem actually being there anyways. I'm not here to argue, it's just annoying when you affirmed you understand the salt but there's no place for it because people can just leave. It's a lot more complicated than that.

I keep saying it's not about me as a user but about the admins of lemmy.world blocking out the sun for arbitrary reasons. I don't even think you are reading any of my comments.
"Just grow your own food" he says as he watches and cheers as his boss stomps on the food I'm trying to grow
I'm upset about the piracy thing, but fully support the action against stopping CSAM no matter the cost.
The dude above is just dense me thinks.
