It doesn’t work that way. There is safe harbor for websites as long as they are proactive and report it as soon as they discover the issue.

These arent corporate monoliths, these are individual moderators who own and operate at their leisure.

Imagine being spammed with these types of images, it must be pretty taxing mentally to have that kind of toxicity hurled at them at what I assume is only going to get worse.

I’m not sure what your point is. I agree that it is difficult and I do feel bad. Unfortunately despite the size of the admin team this is an issue all admins need to deal with eventually.

Some instances will shut down and that is fine. Others will press on and fix the issue which is also fine.

This was my point. Someone is obviously trying to make it as difficult as possible to operate and by shutting down instances and flooding it with child porn, they will be turning away many users, too.
