But anyone dumb enough to try this would start Civil War 2.0.

i lol'ed when i got to this line because you perfectly described the circumstances describing nixon's resignation (excluding the execution).

my pets are the sole reason i'm alive and now only one is still drawing breath; i can't adopt or rescue another because it hurts too much when they leave permanently so i don't think i'll be around long after this one is goes.

I loved that show because I identified w jimmy as someone whose ambitions/aspirations where openly thwarted by those he cared about and was devoted to but kept the open secret from him. I hated chuck because it was clear he was acting on a desire for familial revenge; but then the writers in the last season made it clear that Jimmy is always in the wrong so now I just have ambivalent feelings about a show I loved and then deeply hated in the last 3 episodes

Do something that you can immediately enjoy and it's sufficiently distracting for you to give you a moment to completely forget about it

Living in Texas had taught me that, if Texas wants it, it is therefore bad.

It's always been this way; it's merely that people like her volunteered to be the face of the party to sell to dumbass indecisive moderates the facade that her party is reasonable and has reasonable options.

The fediverse has so little content that it makes it hard to imagine anyone paying for something that gives you less content and participation than any unregistered lurker gets from something like reddit for free

this doesn't exist; is there a typo somewhere?

this is true and it relates to this topic because multiple studies have shown that unions don't survive if brown people make up too big of a percentage of the workers; so if you're going to talk to a union and you see more white faces than any other, you now know to whom you're talking to and can start to understand why trump will always have an audience with union members despite trump himself being anti-union.

We’re not stupid. We’re scared.

too scared. i very recently spent five years in austin and i learned that the 1) liberal texans are only liberal compared to other texans 2) they readily and easily shrug their shoulders in accepting defeat from institutions that they already know are racist, homophobic, sexist, and classicist and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else and 3) will fight and report you to the authorities from those same institutions if you try to do ANYTHING else; my favorite examples are of californians disabling driver-less taxis with traffic cones and new-mexicans pelting short term rentals with eggs and bologna, meanwhile liberal austinites will literally call the cops on you if do either of these (ask me how i know).
