the reason you were able to download it is because other people were seeding it. that's why seeding is helpful

I don't know why, but the clause, "according to 11 Indian and European government and defence industry officials..." seems very funny to me. like, why eleven?

a "surgery" in British politics is like a town hall meeting, but one person at a time.

A political surgery is a series of one-to-one meetings that a Member of Parliament or other political officeholder may have with their constituents

I have to guess it has something to do with being harder to eavesdrop on

all of those things are less hassle than having a boss

I don't take it very often because I don't want an addiction sneaking up on me, but it certainly makes crowds more manageable. almost enjoyable

I quit smoking about 6 years ago. about a year ago, I bought some nicorette lozenges to try to cop a nicotine buzz and got absolutely nothing. some people are telling me that nicotine pouches hit better, but I'm not sure what the science behind that is.

what's your preferred smokeless nicotine delivery system?

the ship wasn't egyptian, just the cargo.

[–] tilefan@lemm.ee 11 points 6 days ago (2 children)

it wasn't actually an Egyptian ship, it was just headed for Egypt.

actually lol'd

I tried searching for one but I'm just getting clumps of philosophy majors

when I tap on a notification for a mention, it's no longer highlighted, so it's showing it as being read, but the little number up at the top doesn't go away unless I hit the "mark all read" button.

the term "cake day" just makes me think of r*ddit. I've seen Lemon Day going around, but we probably want to avoid affiliation with lemon party.

not that we can tell anybody what to do anyway, and each instance could even have its own. anyway, it needs to be something that obviously means "anniversary" and doesn't require explanation otherwise it'll just be annoying
