Aw, that's a bummer she doesn't like you very much. Birds can be great pets!

Maybe try bribing her with some tasty treats?

Just wanted to add that apparently it's intentionally designed that way. Regardless, I like Photon a lot so far. Consider this my vote for it!

So, if I'm browsing my feed and I click on a post is there some way for me to view that community's side bar information without leaving the post?

I like the command palette, but it didn't seem very apparent though. If you hadn't told me about it, I don't know that I would've discovered it on my own.

Ah, that's a bummer but understandable though.

Thanks for the link, I'll make a report.

In regards to photon, it does look pretty sleek. I think I still like Alexandrite better though. Could I ask why not that one instead?

Something that I noticed pretty quickly is that Photon's sidebars seem to be static. When I have the window in a split screen view, there doesn't seem to be any way to view them. Am I missing something?

I appreciate you saying that, hopefully that's a good thing and it can live up to expectations!

Wow, that is one punchable face right there!!!

I forgot, thank you!

Hey all, this is my first community and a work-in-progress. I've only got one post up so far but I tried to make it a good one. I'll be making some more when I get the chance. I'll gladly take any feedback you have, suggestions for the sidebar, etc., and would love it if you want to participate too. Thanks!

Is that something people would even need/want here?

edit to add some context:

buyitforlife is a fantastic community, but I’m not sure it fits what I’m talking about because it’s kind of specific to exclusive products that are meant to last. I’m imagining something that’s covers a more broad range of products. Stipulations might include things like:

-reviews

-design speculation

-improvements

-collaboration

-development

-creation

-also, no sponsored/commercialized products!

(development and creation are super ambitious, but I’d like to include them just because)

I’m very analytical about product design, especially when it comes to electronics and technology, and I like to imagine ways that things could work better or be designed better. I just think it would be cool to have a place to discuss things like that. I also feel like it can be difficult to trust reviews that come from one source, so having a federated collection to start building might be a really useful resource

Hey so I have one of these

I've run into an issue recently where one of the cartridges that I purchased for it doesn't fit properly (the cartridge in question has a flat mouthpiece that is longer than the normal round versions, and when you screw it all the way in it doesn't line up exactly flat to allow the case to fit over it). That's disappointing. I didn't realize this would even be an issue or something that I should have to look out for. It still works (mostly), but I think I'm also getting a lot of air in the draw as well which definitely affects the quality/useability.

So, all that being said, I think I'd like to get something that's a bit better quality and possibly more universal design. I like the pocket-able design of the current model and the fact that it's discreet. So, I'd just like to know what are some of your favorite models like this or what's the next step up in quality. Thanks!

Also,

USB-C please!

Where do you draw the line on divergence?

Many years ago, I was using typing trainer website that had a handful of public domain books available to train on as part of the end-of-course materials. I thought this was really neat, but I ran out of content pretty quickly and lamented the fact that there was nothing else available. Why couldn't you just choose any of the books that were in the public domain? The framework was already there, surely it wouldn't be difficult to implement? I was perplexed by such an obvious oversight and missed opportunity.

Well, today I stumbled upon the exact thing I had wanted to have back then and just wanted to share.

Thoughts?

Hey, I'm just wondering if any of you have built your own cooler slideout for your vehicle's cargo area or could recommend some good plans to go by.

I mean, I noticed so many references and what felt like blantant rip offs of classic scenes. I still enjoyed the movie but the constant copying started to get distracting.

Are there any good open source star gazing apps out there?

It's super cool and all, but also kind of ominous? I feel like something more inviting might be a better fit.
