Great response!

Media is paid for by advertising money. Advertisers pay for the most number of impressions sold, not for the accuracy of reporting.

The more controversial and (negative) emotion provoking, the more impressions and this profit.

The media will never report on good things happening, except for an occasional fluff piece.

Truth isn’t controversial, it never is.

Learn to evaluate for yourself. No media source, influencer or celebrity can replace simply looking for yourself. If you can’t go and see it yourself, it probably doesn’t concern you.

Unless you have the power to do something about the information you’re being given, ignore it!

My personal rule is: “if I’m reading it or watching it, there is an agenda behind it.” I always think to myself, “if it’s being put out by the media, it’s very likely that the complete opposite must be true.”

Doubt what you’re being told to believe and go and LOOK for yourself. Don’t THINK. Go and LOOK.

If you can’t look directly and do something about it, go and find something you can directly observe and find a way to help make someone’s life better. Even if it’s just to put a smile on their face.

I feel slightly better knowing that the Chinese suffer from Chinesium-based products as much as we do.

His name is Herman. Now you know him.

Not sure if this is something better implemented in Thunder or within Lemmy somehow.

I’d love the option to only show posts in specific languages. It’s great that people worldwide are jumping on Lemmy, but I feel like I’m playing whack-a-mole with posts written in languages I don’t read.

This feature, combined with an instance filter would make me so happy!

I’ve had turkey just about every possible way it can be cooked, and it just isn’t that good.

Doesn’t matter how juicy or dry and it doesn’t matter what herbs or spices are used, it just not that tasty.

Give me a brisket or a standing rib roast or just about anything that isn’t turkey for thanksgiving.

Lemmy is growing daily, which is awesome! But it would be nice to be able to see new content coming in, but filter certain communities and users at the same time.

I see comments where people say “just use subscribed”, and that’s fine, but I’d like to see what’s new, filtering things I know I don’t want to see.

For example, I see city communities becoming very active, good for them! I know I will never be interested in let’s say a particular city’s community. I’d like to block it and continue seeing the rest of all the new stuff.

Similarly, the same is true for some users. It would also be nice if the keyword and instance filters would be hidden.

Thus I propose a new feed view “All (filtered)”.

Thanks for all the great work on the app!

I was really distraught over the whole Reddit Spez-gate meltdown, and Memmy has been like a breath of fresh air.
