Rumors say it was intended to be on-device originally but the chip just wasn’t capable enough. I guess they settled for gate keeping it to their flagship device anyway.

Try it with a mouse scroll wheel. It's a completely different feel compared to Chrome. I was on Windows if it makes a difference

I hate Samsung's phone UI as well but their Chromebooks are legit some of best premium laptops out there. Also, posting this comment from my Tab S5e running lineageos
