As a son, every time I come home with a new tattoo my mom asks what it means, and I say 'that I love my momma'. A joke, but expressive of the spirit of tattoo IMO.

The tattoos I have for my kids are a daddy bird famous for raising its young, a storybook character, a favorite flower. If my kids ever ask what they mean I can say, 'that I love you.

Not knowing you, Id tell anyone with a question like this to aim for something that says 'I love you, I love us." Names are not always forever. Ideas are though

Check out wispar. It has been a great app for staying up to date on topics. It is API based and not RSS but highly functional

The security community needs to understand privacy and security are the same. So many times I've heard infosec people act like they are unrelated

The Nintendo online play is a joke. Not connecting to the web is a boon imo

IMO once you get the fundamentals and feel film is for art and expression. You'd be mad not to use digital for work or volume. Film doesn't scale vertically or horizontally without mad cash and skills

All my photography course work in journalism was shot on film; however in the news room it was all digital.

When asked, photojournalists I worked with be them professor, student, or professional, discussed photos as language. You learn to speak in film because it forces an understanding of the fundamentals.

In photo j the shots are not staged and you can maybe get two shots before the news is gone. That feels like film.

Film is also what people imagine when they think of authenticity. Those grains have very ' dont quote the old magic to me... ' vibe

Pangolin is my next homelab project. I can't wait to give it a go. If anyone has any advise or guides it'd be appreciated

I don't know of alternatives

Pangolin, while u.s. based does not appear to serve the state of its interests

I am not aware of a direct peer, but tailscale, a bastion hosting a direct VPN or remote reverse proxy to your homelab are all similar. Pangolin seemingly combines the best and more of these scenarios

I'm with you. Great journalists doing vital reporting around the world. However, the Times as a company is shit, the editorials as garbage, and the prioritization of stories is neocon AF

News is a critical industry; like anything it is corruptible and in a capitalist system corruption via greed is inevitable
