Given that the alternative was "authoritarian rule under certain, unspecified circumstances", what does "democracy" even mean here? Was it presented as a binary choice? That is misleading.

Neither gender nor sexuality is defined by appearance in general, but the straight white men do present themselves in a specific way.

You are right to say that this might not be the straight white men's club, but you would be wrong to say that the straight white men's club does not look like this.

This feels like an attempt to justify their already pro-reform stance.

Since they speak multiple languages, they probably spend quite a lot of time thinking about the subtle differences in meaning between words, so the precise meaning of the word "polyglot" no doubt matters quite a lot to them.

Promoting American industry by ~~buying American~~ getting airplanes as gifts from other countries.

And the taxpayer should subsidize the construction, no doubt.

They also said that they were cancelling lifetime contracts that hadn't been used in 6 months. Hard to see how those could be sinking the company.

That's the BBC editorial team at work. The letter was signed by 400 artists.

The bicycles are another thing they're ignoring. If someone wanted to leave the area, why wouldn't they go on their bicycle? It would be faster. Those people didn't want to be in the road, and they wanted to get out of the road in enough of a hurry that they didn't wheel their bicycles to the side.

They spend loads of time labelling people with "taking cover" without ever considering that people take cover when they are being fired on.

They don't want to find themselves committed to 5 years of software updates. It's against company policy to support a product for that long.
