It’s currently broken. There is a way to set it in settings, it’s just not remembering it right now.

It’s because a lot of people migrating from Reddit landed on .world and created or found their familiar named communities and that’s how it was on Reddit - US centric top level type communities.
Is .world the best place for US centric communities? Maybe not just based on nomenclature but since you asked why, that’s the reasoning. It’s in the description of Politics specifically (it even calls out migrating Redditors).

You kinda can, as long as someone in your household with an iPhone can set up the watch for your daughter as a family member. Someone has to have an iPhone in order to deal with setup and any access control and some features won’t be available without a companion iPhone, but it might be sufficient for your daughter’s needs. Then she can sign into the same iCloud account on the iPad. I can’t speak to how well it’ll behave between those two devices on the same iCloud account and how well anything like handoff or continuity will work because I haven’t had need to try it, but if you wanted her to have a watch and no phone I think this is the only way to do it right now.
If they could integrate that development into making Siri better, that’d be great.
Considering Meta mines as much data from as many people as possible just to advertise to them and also they can’t even launch Threads in the EU right now because of how aggressively it tracks literally everything about their users and Threads’ only purpose is to gather more data to sell to more people, I think that alone is worth not letting them play.
So you’re saying you don’t want insightful, thoughtful comments from u/rimjob_steve this time around?
I deleted and reinstalled and the issue persists. But there is a bug report on GitHub now.
