I have to agree, I never used the VA features. I was prepared to have issues with banking apps and such but found myself not having issues with even those.

Apparently they we're contractually obligated to include that, which is why there's an option to snooze it at all. I'm sure they'll get rid of it eventually.

Thanks for relaying this!

I love Kurzgesagt, but this one was hard to follow for me. Interesting but confusing concept.

Yes I'm with you there. It reminded me a lot of the common reactionary strategy of purposefully misinterpreting a question in to make the question asked sound unreasonable. Trying to paint it as though promoting them equally with all the other instances is a neutral action/position.

I'm also quite unnerved by the responses to @Gaywallet@beehaw.org in regards to the promotion of instances that spread bigoted ideas and harrass other instances on join-lemmy.

The complete disregard seems to run counter to the ideology that beehaw is built on. It becomes clearer to me as time goes on that beehaw and lemmy have very different (and in some cases opposite) goals and priorities in mind. I for one would be completely onboard for a switch. I've admittedly used beehaw and lemmy in general less and less as the moderation issues and shift of tone in conversations have increased.

I think the admins and moderators of beehaw have been doing a wonderful job with the hand dealt regardless.

Cool, good luck going forward!

This is a really cool tool if used correctly. It seems much of the concern comes from spam. Forgive me if this is already a feature or planned, but maybe setting a timer per batches of posts might be helpful? That way you could select what you want moved and each x hours/days if copies a set amount of posts over.

Hello all, I'm having some network problems on my server (Ubuntu Lunar Lobster Server Edition), namely my plex port is no longer reachable from outside the network despite it being port forwarded and allowed through ufw. A few days ago I used airvpn's eddie gui program, and it completely wrecked my network. Caused it to be completely cut off from internet when disabled, even with the killswitch function off.

I rolled back to a snapshot I'd made earlier using snapper and grub-btrfs and thought the problem was solved. But while I regained the ability to access the internet, it still seems to have messed something up. I can't seem to get my kernel upgraded. I have 6.2.0-25 installed, but I can only boot into 6.2.0-24, even when I apt removed the older kernel. I believe this is what is causing my networking issues, though even if it's not I'd need a solution so as to be able to keep my kernel updated.

I'm at a bit of a loss at this point and am wondering if I've dug myself in too deep with grub-btrfs. I'm contemplating getting a fresh image on there and sticking to manual use of snapper.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Love David Graeber's work. Bullshit Jobs is iconic.

This isn't any article in particular, but rather a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to research leftist theory, or improve their praxis.

Disregard the name as it is a wealth of knowledge for socialists, anarchists and communists alike. I'm sure many here have learnt about this free and open library in the past, but just in case it's the first some have heard of it, I thought I'd share.

What's the source on that? That's a pretty big accusation but I'd certainly want to know if it's true.
