Based on the report, the average asking rent for a one-bedroom unit in Canada was $1,923 in October, down 0.8 per cent from a year ago. The average asking price for a two-bedroom unit was $2,308, down 0.2 per cent.

Oh, be still my beating heart. 0.2%. Remind me how much it has increased since 2019?

The report says asking rents in Canada have increased overall by a total of 21 per cent, or an average of $384 per month, from two years ago, just before the start of interest rate hikes by the Bank of Canada.

The cope among thr Democrats post election has been embarassing. 0 reflection as to why they lost (just like in 2016), blaming every possible external factor imaginable instead of thinking "hey, maybe we sucked and need to actualy be people that people want to elect" instead of relying on the "ooooh this guy is bed, better vote for us to keep him out" strategy.

They have fucked up in a major way, in what should have been a slam-dunk election, by ignoring what people actually want and trying to be Great Value Republicans when the right has Coca-Cola Fascism readily available to them.

I hope adherence to the corporate staus quo was worth it, you absolute fucking buffoons.

If someone is undecided at this point, they're either disingenuous and embarrassed about their support for Trump, or they're a moron.

Agreed. Thats why I like the reverse sear method of:

  • Salting the steaks
  • Rest them on a wire rack (preferablt in the fridge overnight, but at least an hour)
  • Cook it in the oven at a low temp until the thickest part is at ~120°F
  • Sear in a high heat cast iron pan a minute or two per side until you like the crust.

The nice think about baking it vs sous-vide is that the oven dries out the surface for a reallt nice crust. You also dont need to buy a sous-vide setup and can use things you already have.

The only downside to this method is that you dont get anything in the pan for a pan sauce (if thats what you're into).

Of all the music apps, why? I HATE Youtube Music. I only use it because I get it free with Youtube Premium, but its a shit app. Google Music and Google Podcasts died for this?

First off, I can't separate my podcasts from my music like I used to when we had two discrete apps, so whenever I want to listen to one, it erases the queue for the other. Why not have the ability to have seperate playlists for each?

Then there was the whole "merging your liked Youtube videos with your liked songs", so you'd get the audio from a 7 minute video playing at random intervals while you're just trying to listen to music. To their credit, they did fix that after several months of user complaints.

It also crashes fairly regularly when I'm broadcasting to my Google home speaker, which is actually kind of funny when you think about it.

All in all, 2/10 app, would not recommend.

Right? The democracts need to stop being the "not as bad" party and start being the "actually good for people" party if they want people to vote for them.

It would be absolutely hilarious if they all ended up out of office before Trudeau, but for some reason, Ontario has the memory of a goldfish when it comes to Dougie.

Ah, sweet, new manmade horrors beyond my comprehension.

Ill always remember the clip of Jordan Klepper at a Trump rally talking to a guy who has been making four times as much as he ever did under Obama during the Trump presidency.

His field of work? Debt relief.

Womp womp.

Hasnt he been in hospice care for like a year and a half now?

This thing punches waaaaay above its weight class in terms of price to playability. It is actually stupid how much better it is than my LP. Neck heel is beautiful, completely open access to the upper frets. A nice, chunky, matte neck, too.

It also has a coil-tap-but-not-coil-tap on the tone knob push pull that gives a little more bite and chime single coil character but with minimal output loss.

Another thing I really appreciate is that Yamaha took the time to wire the pots correctly so when I turn them "forward" (counterclockwise), the volume goes up. Some other, bigger companies do not always take the time to do this.

All in all, a solid guitar for a great price. Highly recommend giving it a look if you are in the market for a versatile HH guitar.

Finally found a Danelectro Chicken Salad for a resonable price (ie pre-JHS hype prices). Definitely a good Vibe circuit, but the casing is fragile. Do not fall for the hype and buy one over $100. At that price, you could get a BBE Soulvibe, which is just as good IMO, and has a sturdier case.

The Yamaha CH100 Stereo chorus was a neat find. Very much a thick, lush, 80s style stereo chorus. The manual and width knobs are pretty interactive making for some very cool sounds. Absolutelty S P A C I O U S in S T E R E O.

I attended this last year and it was a blast! Anyone in the area should check it out. Lots of big names like Walrus, EarthQuaker, Pigtronix, and Empress will be there, but also small local builders that deserve attention too.

Back in 2016, two trades happened that seemed like seismic events in the NHL that... never really impacted any of the teams involved in the way that they thought it would:

  • PK Subban is traded from the Montreal Canadiens to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Shea Weber
  • Taylor Hall is traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Adam Larsson

At the time, these felt like franchise defining moves that would have immediate impacts, but ultimately didn't really move the needle in any significant way.

  • Taylor Hall wont a Hart and helped the Devils get to the playoffs for the first time in six years, but then missed the playoffs for the next two and was traded to Arizona in 2019 for Kevin Bahl, Nick Merkley, Nate Schnarr, and the pick that NJ used to get Dawson Mercer
  • Adam Larsson did help the Oilers on defense, but ultimately never got farther than the 2nd round with Edmonton. He was taken by Seattle in the 2021 expansion draft
  • PK helped Nashville make the Stanley Cup finals his first year with his new club, but fell short of winning it all, losing to the Penguins in six games. He was traded to New Jersey in 2019 to free up cap space.
  • Shea Weber's time in Montreal was plagued by injury. He did help the Habs to their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance in nearly 30 years with their Cinderella run in the 2021 playoffs, but lost the series in five games. Weber has been LITRetired ever since that run.

How did you guys feel about those trades when they happened? Ambivalence? Excitement?
