I've never had anything bad happen to my library, but I do back it up regularly. The only "bad" thing might be there's often breaking changes where you just need to update your docker compose yml when you pull a new immich update.

It is hell, and in the US people still defend it like it's the best way to do it😖

Immich as an alternative to Google Photos, it has all the main features but it's self hosted.

on a pi you'll have to transcode the media for Direct Play beforehand. Pretty much anything that's not in h264 aac format will lag

Transport Fever 2

A few times I remember going to crop a photo and the app telling me it would remove the Motion part of the photo. Today I noticed I edited a Motion photo and it actually cropped the video in the motion data. the Result is literally just a cropped motion photo that retains the cropped motion. just thought that was near since for years the editor has just straight up removed the video when you cropped

I really wish I could take the Coast Starlight -> San Joaquins without a bus transfer. Coast Starlight's scheduled arrival in Sacramento is at 6:48am, the only departing San Joaquins train for the day leaves 20 minutes earlier. Meaning if you need to take SJ you have to wait, take a bus, wait some more, and catch up with another SJ train 3 hours later. I really wish they would run more trains from Sacramento but im sure this is coming in the future.

The northbound route doesn't have a bus connection and just has you wait 3 hours in Martinez. Is this southbound transfer just because they assume they could have a delay so they don't want to hold up the only southbound train from Sac?
