I keep trying to look up any relevant information that discusses where this teen might have acquired this infection and no one has been able to figure it out. There is no obvious vector ... no farm, no farm animal, no connection to being around any kind of animals or direct contact.

My biggest concern I have is if the teen was exposed to the virus through the food supply .... eggs, poultry and poultry products.

I trust farmers and I trust farmers to take care of their animals to not expose people.

But it only takes one desperate or inconsiderate farmer who is trying to save money or finds a way to make an extra buck that takes a chance and decides to get rid of a batch of potentially diseased birds.

ahhhhh .... I really don't care any more ... I'm nice and respectful and open to everyone ... I accept everyone no matter race, gender, identity, nationality, background, religion (or non religion) and I do my best to respect everyone for who they are .... beyond that, if people give me a hard time to be around them just to give me a hard time or show authority or try to be above me or control me - I really don't want to be around you.

... or marketing, plain old marketing, advertising and public relations.

You can blast the airwaves with the same message over and over again eventually people just believe it ... either because they are lazy, don't care, it doesn't immediately matter to them or they just don't want to be bothered learning the details. It's the same process of convincing people to either like Coke or Pepsi.

Goebbels and the Nazi party easily mastered it in the 30s .... tell a lie, repeat it often enough and eventually it will be come true ... if you tell a lie, tell a big lie, the biggest lie you can make and everyone will believe it.

It all boils down to money and marketing ... whoever dumps the money into one party, politician, political movement will get the votes eventually and convince everyone of whatever reality they want them to believe.

I have one or two hot wheels shaped wounds somewhere on my skull from when my brothers tossed these things at me in a fight .... and I returned the favor as well.

That's hilarious because I was the same. I was never able to afford the latest computers, laptops or electronics.... so I spent a lot of time maxing out every device, learning to download software, massive (10 MB) updates on a dialup connection, learning to use cracked software, then graduating to Linux and open source software .... I've tried the freezing hard drives to rescue them but never tried baking my mainboard!

Hot wheels from the 70s and 80s were deadly weapons ... you stepped on one it was like stepping on a roller skate, you broke one it turned into knife and if you threw one, you could cause a concussion. Even just opening up one of those damned things when you were kid usually meant you severely cut yourself (I know from experience).

How about farm workers .... I'm up in Canada and I know because I've seen entire farm communities in southern Ontario base their entire business on immigrant labor that was either legal, illegal and everything in between. Around Norfolk (a region southwest of Toronto), entire towns are filled with Mexican, Haitian, Dominican and more recently, African workers as labor for the planting, management and harvest.

We all have cheap vegetables in North America because of cheap immigrant labor that our governments allow into the country to work (for little to no money) but not to stay.

Then I heard someone knocking outside.

Everyone ignored it and said it wasn't there while no news reported the sighting that only I could see every day.

Before I realized I was the only one left.

As the mushroom cloud rose above the city that was once Moscow.

It was then that I realized, I was just a passive observer.

Until he forgot everything and was born again.

And waited for the voices to tell me a story.

Traveling at the speed of light, Earth would have no warning of the shower of radiation that would decimate half the planet's life forms and atmosphere.

After the guillotine had completed it's final motion.

With my useless body locked in place, my mind was a conscious witness to my own four hour corrective spinal surgery.

As the winter storm howled across my face.

As the tidal waves gently lapped against my face.
