Ohh I see, I was concerned less with the aesthetics and more with the practicality. But when taking the image into consideration, this fedipunk sounds a bit like combining solarpunk and cyberpunk in a way. Which is great. We definitely need the best of both worlds, and I'm always trying to tell people that solarpunk doesn't need to be all dirt and DIY. Tech can and should totally be implemented.

I see what you mean now. More like the blending and overlapping of music/literary genres and less of separate branches or offshoots of political parties.

Isn't decentralization already part of the solarpunk ideology? Seems like the internet in a solarpunk world would just be the fediverse, but it's normalized instead of alternative.

Honestly instead of fracturing a movement, this is something that, if not already part of solarpunk, could easily be encompassed within it. No need for splintering and factions. Just co-opt the way capitalism does to make the movement stronger.

Nothing about the fediverse as an alternative, surprise surprise.

All this time I thought Beehaw was like Kbin in that it communicated with Lemmy instances but wasn't itself Lemmy. Any way of making this a reality, or maybe that'd be too much of an overhaul at this point?

I tried to figure out how they're defining woke this time too. Even after reading it's still a bit vague, but I think it comes down to this quote:

“Far-right parties will keep talking about immigration because it's their core topic, but in order to increase their appeal they need to kind of diversify their issues, what they talk about, and this is where woke capitalism comes in,” said Sofia Vasilopoulou, professor of European politics at King’s College London.

Far-right folks don't wanna think about anything other than what they've been thinking about all this time. Having to suddenly think about other things is too much for them. At least that's what I'm getting from this.

All this time I thought it would make learning the language easier for a non-native speaker, because it's reinforcing which pronouns go together—her with she, him with he, they with them, etc. Funny I never saw it as being redundant until you pointed it out.
