Damn. I'm impressed. How often do you get disoriented moving around and thinking things are smaller than they are?

I have been running Linux full time on my gaming PC for a number of months now. I have found only a few instances where a game hasn't worked. I know that certain games won't work because of their invasive or Windows specific DRM, but for me personally I don't want to play those games anyway. Some examples of games I can play without issue: Horizon: Forbidden West, Brotato, Plate Up, GTFO, Dome Keeper, Noita, Enlisted, Power Wash Simulator, Risk of Rain 2 ...

It's as if "first" has become a legitimate argument for existence

To start press any key

I highly recommend this game! I played through it with a friend and really enjoyed it. I think I recommend it with more than one player

I legit thought that after dropping off my ballot yesterday. I checked online in the evening to see if they showed my ballot as received but it didn't show it yet. Thankfully I did get an update a few hours ago that they did receive it

Probably not super unique but a glass breaker/seatbelt cutter. If I'm in an accident or I come upon one, I want that ability with me.

You can already do this. If you click on the publisher or developer there is an ignore option

For things like playing video games, I don't. I'm okay with switching between games several times in an evening. However, when I'm looking at something to buy I try to recognize when I'm hyper focusing on the thing vs having a long term need/desire for. On those things I try to delay purchasing for a while to let the hyper focusing subside.

So for me it's not really a case of limiting or restricting, but just delaying. I did this recently with a tool for my workshop. I waited long enough to let the hyper focusing subside but also long enough to stumble on an amazing deal on a really nice version.

PSA: you can also block publishers (and I presume developers too)

I've been trying to boot a Ubuntu 24.04 USB (please no discussion of distro choice) but I keep getting a very unhelpful error during the initial startup. I've tried using a different USB drive, a different USB port, booting from UEFI. The only thing that has made a change was booting into safe graphics mode. It got to the install wizard but when I got to the end of the wizard it gave me other seemingly useless error messages.

I'm concerned there's an issue with my motherboard but I don't have strong evidence to support this idea. I recently took a trip where the computer was fine before I left. I turned it off while I was away and when I came back my main drive no longer worked. I couldn't boot from it or even see the drive in gparted. I've replaced the drive without issue though. If my motherboard is somehow going bad, it's being very subtle about it. I was ready to blame Nvidia but when I got it into safe graphics mode, it didn't get to the point of having Nvidia drivers.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on or any way I can get additional information about the errors I'm getting? The lack of information is really frustrating.
