Absolutely brutal

I haven't! I'm going to get to it before I get BG3 for sure.

Speaking of CRPGs, I just played Baldur’s Gate 1 for the first time, funnily enough. It was a great game which is not exactly a controversial opinion but I wasn’t expecting it to be so fucking funny also. It was very very very hard though.

I also downloaded DOS2 but it felt like I needed a breather after BG so I’ll get to it when I can commit some time to it.

Remnant 2 - fun game, not as difficult as Remnant 1 imo but better for it.

Cities Skylines - no idea why I got the urge to play it. I've had a few failed attempts previously. And I still find it hard as hell to plan my shit out instead of haphazardly placing zones and industries. I'm still very early on (pre-office blocks) and my map is already a mess. I'm playing with the industry, mass transit and plazas DLCs. The industry one seems like fun but I haven't got to the other two yet. I'm looking forward to the sequel but I know I'm going to suck at that too

Remnant 2

I enjoyed the first but didn't complete it. Remnant 2 has much the same AA jank but it's fun as hell.

Shadowbringers and Endwalker were so fucking good. This is an instant preorder and I'm going to book time off just to enjoy it.

This is your hourly reminder that being born into a family that owns an emerald mine doesn't automatically make you a fucking genius

Awesome thanks, guess I'll wait a bit longer!

Children of Memory by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It's been a while since I read anything of his and I'm loving it.

Do they taste any different fully ripe as opposed to picking them while green? My plant has got a shitload of big anaheims and I'm unsure when to pick them

The plant itself is tiny compared to my other jalapenos but it’s loaded with flowers. I can’t wait to see what the fruits look like!

This is my second attempt at sourdough, a hybrid starter/commercial yeast Pan de Campagne from FWSY. My first attempt tragically failed prior to baking as the dough straight up defied gravity by refusing to release itself from the proofing basket and got absolutely butchered when I tried to give it some assistance. It never made it to the oven.

For this second loaf, my big mistake was not having baking paper to hand and needing to directly handle a boule that just did not want to be held, hence the growth on the side. I also forgot to spray the boule with water prior to putting the lid on the Dutch oven, and I believe this is partly why the oven spring is underwhelming. Nevertheless I’m happy with it for what it is - it smells fantastic and there’s some blistering on there. If it’s no good for sandwiches I might whip up some garlic butter and make some fresh garlic bread. And if there’s any left maybe I’ll do some croutons to slam in a pasta salad!
