I would love to go those sales got up, too. The Peugot shares a common basis with the Corsa, doesn't it?

[–] a887dcd7a@lemmy.world 22 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Yea, who would have thought, that a N*-salute and unjust culling of social welfare and security systems could damage a brand..

It is a little sad, that only VW sales are reported to go up. I am a big fan of smaller affordable SEVs like Renault's Zoe, the new R5 and Opel's Corsa Electric, but I guess they are simply not in the same league.

Who should encourage whom?

[–] a887dcd7a@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago

My gut feeling (and reading about current weapon sales) says the 2024 numbers are way lower. We had so many domestic contracts for Rheinmetall, BAE, SAAB, Thales, ... and the smaller companies.

[–] a887dcd7a@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Looked it up. You are correct.

[–] a887dcd7a@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Got the same feeling. They got two different types fo display and both don't sit right with me. And the new accents look goofy.

Damn, do you have an opinion on the new Garmin Instincts?

[–] a887dcd7a@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (2 children)

I'm also trying to use Here WeGo for turn by turn navigation.

I tested all the other contenders (OSM And, Organic Maps, Magic Earth) and some seem to be best for outdoor activities (hiking, biking, OSM And), others do good for commuting (Here WeGo).

The other problem you mentioned is, that sadly few apps have this "search engine and rating" topic covered. As far as I know Apple Maps uses Yelp as backend and Google Maps it's own solution. AFAIK the others do simply not support community based annotations. Only addition or moderation on the groundlaying openstreetmap data.

If I need to search for a location and it's opening times, I have no good substitute, yet.

Does anyhone know a good Garmin Instinct 2 Solar alternative?

I wanted to buy the now obsolete Instinct 2 due to its robustness and longevity, but recently learned that Garmin is american :-)

Does Suunto have any affordable Solar variants? Do you know other manufacturers?

Boaa.. they [those people] are everywhere...

Did you find any viable alternatives, yet?

Maybe Leibwächter (first result of a quick search)?

My lemmy interaction was quite limited up until today.

Some time ago, when the first reddit migration happend, I took over a stale community. It faded and there was nothing to moderate, write or comment. Also most communities I'm subscribed to, do not produced so much relevant content. I fell back to reddit.

I didn't test it yet but oftentimes mailprovider that offer you some cloud storage offer some office functions, too. e.g. mailbox cloud office .

Where to start? (lemmy.world)

In the last weeks several databases and websites emerged around the idea of buying European, or local.

Coming from different communities overviews of products and services can (for example) be found at the following websites:

If you are using Firefox or Chrome you can be nudged to do better by using the opensource Go-European-Plugin:

(If you know any other starting points feel free to comment.)

An up-to-date list of recommended European projects and companies, curated by the community to support and strengthen the European tech ecosystem, specifically for users interested in privacy and sustainability.

Update 2025-03-05: Vote is in favor of keeping this community. This post is unpinned and locked.

TLDR: upvote if you want BuyFromEU to stick around.

Hi folks, new mod here.

There are two quite similar communities on different instances. Some users - coming from the different place - are in favor for abandoning this one, fearing a split and unecessary separation of users for an important movement. I'm not so sure if the other one is a substitute. Also - to be honest - I dislike the agressive, relentless style some users use in a -if you will- foreign community.

Procedure

  • An upvote on this post means this you want this community to evolve. I would then proceed and search for more moderators and try to keep this a productive, interconnected space.
  • A downvote means you are in favor of abandoning and settling with the other community.

You can use the comments on this post to express your feelings in a civil manner.

I'll finally check back in about 48hours and take a look at where we are standing.

Edit:

Hi, it seems like I just got designated additional moderator for this community. This happend without any further communication with mod or anyone, so I'm pretty suprised.

I need to sort out if this was by accident, how it came to be, and where to move from here on.

Come abroad this journey and stay tuned 😂

Hi guys,

let me be upfront and blunt, just so this issue gets addressed early on.

There are two communities on two differnt servers. feddit.org/c/BuyFromEU and feddit.uk/c/buyeuropean. They significantly differ in daily traffic/contributers and amount of moderators.

One user of feddit.uk is quite vocal about his community being the real deal and puts a lot of effort in onboarding redditors in his community.

Acknowledging the viewpoint and reason ( META Discussion ), I don't like how he is kind of overstepping placing his solution in any context, like it is the only real deal.

His arguments might be valid in some points, but the style is really poor.

Nonetheless, unmoderated communities without traction fade out by themselves and don't need artificial accelration.

To be honest it is upto @Soggy_Commission_934@feddit.org what to do with this community and to see if he wants to step up and put more moderators in place, or not.

I would prefer to have both communities to evolve in whatever directory they are heading, without interfering.

In the end informed people can subscribe to both and decide for themselves where they want to contribute.

Edit: one user, not moderator.

Now that http://wearecocoon.co.uk/ is officially out of business (subpages are still working) did anybody try to get a refund in the App Store?

Edit

I just opened a fraud case with Apple support: http://reportaproblem.apple.com/

Hey Steve,

its been a while since your last occurrence, when you and your buddy re-assured your commitment and explained some time of absence: fine with the most of us. But since then: silence.

Some of your early customers already moved on and wrote off their invest.

Could you please step the game up a little and start managing your community and maybe our expectations? For example you could share a rough roadmap, just so we know, that you are still on it and your community issues were heard? Or take half an hour once a week, biweekly or monthly to communicate your progress and what you are up to?

Best wishes a early stage customer that already resorts to other clients

Hi,

I just saw that tags containing a slash are not recognized as flair tag ( https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/2118160 )

[does not/work]

This seems to break the parser, but I cannot imagine how.

Hi folks,

did you uncheck, that your AppStore builds should be available on macOS?

Back in the early days, I installed an test flight build (1.0.1) on my mac. Now I wanted to check back and see, if there is any of improvements in regards to macOS.

I can't find bean in the macOS AppStore (with the iOS/iPadOS filter) 😞, so I suppose you deactivated it on purpose?
