Yeah, Crave won the first round of the Canadian streaming wars, and Shomi was shut down.
I think it goes without saying - or it should - that watching it through official channels is better for the longevity of the show, if that's an option where you live.
not sure why they’re dropping the ball on this one.
My best guess is that the season 1 ratings on the CTV Sci-Fi channel weren't great, and despite being a massive media conglomerate, they don't really have a "kids' channel" to put it on instead.
There has been no official announcement regarding the launch of season 2 of Prodigy in Canada on CTV or any other platform, including Netflix and Paramount+.
This isn't entirely true. Prodigy-related news releases on startrek.com used to say that the series would be available on CTV.ca and the CTV app - that language disappeared around June.
At this point, I think CTV simply isn't going to release it, despite being the sole license holder
Assuming you're in the Netherlands, season 1 is apparently available on SkyShowtime, with season 2 "coming soon."
It occurs to me that they're referring to the headline, which...yeah, okay.
Not everything needs to be ranked.
In this case, I think it would have been weird not to include Korby.
Another Hail Mary approach if all else fails could be to shop the story around to local media. If anyone bites, it could certainly lead to a quick resolution.
Yeah hopefully they can get some traction if they just keep at it. Like I said, I've been pretty fortunate in the past, but I know people who have had some pretty bad experiences.
I thankfully haven't had to deal with MPI for a long time (and truthfully, my personal experiences have been pretty positive), but their website suggests they will have to pay the deductible up front, but should get reimbursed once the issue of who is at fault is sorted out.
Is MPI flat-out refusing to pursue this? If so, what exactly are they saying to justify it?
The answer might be to make themselves as irritating to the adjustors as possible...nothing to lose, really.
I don't disagree with any of that - any governmental body should be scrutinized periodically, and as I mentioned, I'd love to see some information about why this guy was let go.
We ran a regular comics discussion for a while, but there wasn't a lot of engagement at the time.
My personal feeling is that I'd like to see more comics and Treklit discussion on c/startrek before splintering anything off into its own community, but I'm also very interested to hear what others think!
