That's all true for game dev but not the rest of tech. If you know that something is wrong you flee before it actually goes bad. Also you can interview for new jobs before you leave the previous one so you don't have an insurance issue.

Tech workers aren't above working class concerns. But I'm sick of having to fight the rest of the working class to make any change. I'll help, but I'm not going to put in a ton of effort for something to help others when those others are hell bent on not receiving that help.

Thats the beauty of being in a high demand line of work? I struggle to see how being a swe could leave you with no voice. You have mobility and are highly paid. If your company isn't doing well go find a new job?

I totally understand why people want unions for lower demand work. But I don't understand it for sw.

That's an ... Interesting methodology and take.

What benefit would a union get me? A lot of the benefits I've seen from unions I already have. I don't want seniority based pay. Its already really hard to get rid of coworkers that underperform to the point of impacting others job performance.

Is it bad that I read this and said "not bad?"

This is totally a conversation that would happen in real life. I've watched a friend of mine try to convince someone who had a bit much to drink that the primes are closed under multiplication for an hour. Absolutely hysterical

A huge part of that riot was the Irish who were fresh off the boat from the potato famine and we're not pleased that they had escaped one hell and we're going to be drafted to a war they didn't care about.

Do you pick the sprinkles off the brownie?

Isn't his comp mostly in stock? So if they cut his salary it wouldn't really affect the profit margin so much as the valuation of his salary

Oh neat. What parts are you studying? I was always told that you never really get quantum mechanics the first time and that you need to see it 3 times. But I wouldnt know bc the second course I took was already too much.

But bra-ket notation was super cool.

Renting an apartment is cheaper than buying a house. If there are no small houses but there are cheap apartments you end up with this problem. Sf bay area housing is a time.

That doesn't seem right if the taxes on a house in the area you where you work are higher than rent.
