He didn't go to the inauguration and what makes you think that has a goddamn thing to do with it.

Trump was one of only three presidents to be too much of a whiny bitch, but the outgoing president is not needed for a new president to be sworn in

What was this cartoon saying about Charles?

What had he said or done to elicit this cartoon?

Genuine question here ....

Fucking ridiculous.

A vote for anyone OTHER than Harris directly results in MORE Gazan suffering.

Trump will not restrain Israel. On the contrary, he will encourage them to 'end it' and achieve "peace" by ACTUALLY genociding all remaining Palestine resistance.

[–] Scirocco@lemm.ee 0 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

This is ridiculous. The most harm-reducing outcome for actual Gazans (not to mention everyone else) is if Harris wins.

Because, either Harris will win, or Trump will win.

There is NO other possibilty and no amount pseudo-philosophy word games will change that fact.

Trump's plan for Gaza and peace in the Middle East to let Israel kill absolutely everyone that they want to.

Anyone who thinks Trump would produce a better outcome for the people of Gaza is not thinking clearly.

In the current political system, voting for a third party in earnest or in protest (for national offices) is a blatant waste of your vote

By all means, vote in third party candidates in local, county and even state elections. Vote to eliminate the electoral college. VOTE for Ranked-Choice/Instant Runoff voting.

These are the ways to break the two party deadlock.

Jill Stein has co-opted the Green Party, and turned it into a blatant pro-trump shill organization, on behalf of Russia/Putin.

Greens once ran good candidates across the country who won a fair number of local races and took office in places where they could have a good positive effect. No more. Sadly that party has been swindled and hoodwinked by a putinist grifter.

There's a saying, Randy-bo-bandy...

Have you ever heard of the shit-apple?

Your story is very sad, and I am sorry you had do go through all of that. It sounds pretty horrific and over an extended period.

I hope you find some peace, through talking or posting or maybe eventually some therapy.

I think you will find that more people are supportive than not, though every crowd will have some assholes. Be selective with irl folks that you talk with, but finding a support group could be very helpful.

I'll agree that Dems have given up way too easily, mostly based on naive "for the good of the country" white knighting.

It probably didn't start with Al Gore and the hanging chads, but that would have been a good time to realize that sometimes these fights are existential

Doesn't change the fact that Stein is currently a russian-funded spoiler and she's a drag on the Greens and does great disservice to all of the non-major parties.

I hope No Labels and other serious 'third paries' spend time focusing on voting reform like RCV or similar. Of course, many nerds will (probably correctly) claim that RCV is flawed in whatever way and we should try to move to some other even more complicated system. And then nothing will happen and we will continue to be stuck in a bi-party system with smaller factions only ever having the opportunity to act as spoilers in national or even state-wide races.

And that irony now is that messenger on Android is RCS compliant and currently has this exact functionality, except it's less trustworthy.

Once again I'm using one messenger and everyone else who's using an RCS messenger gets encrypted, but SMS (clearly marked as such) is a viable fallback.

But, it worked!

They have actually done it, the madlads

(What's the gender neutral equivalent of madlads?)

I recall there being a LOT of those watches out that were "mobile data connected" for very cheap.

The catch? The mobile data radio was 2g, and those networks are all obsolete and gone now (I think)

All of the wyze stuff seems to be decent, but not super premium.

The headphones are 85% as good as the Bose, but for $49

The scale is quite good, nothing even remotely off about that and it integrates with Fitbit just fine.

The Color smart bulbs have been solid. One of the wyze smart plugs lost its memory once and needed to be re-setup, but fine since.

The cameras all work great too, as long as you're comfortable with the fact that the video goes to some cloud location.

from: http://www.thebikecomesfirst.com/the-raleigh-vektar/

The Vektar, the worlds first computer bike, was launched in 1985 long before we had health and safety laws. Equipped with ‘micro chip technology’ the rider could see how fast they were going, how far they had gone and how long they had been riding for at the touch of a button. The head’s down display ensured that you would ride into the back of your mate or a kerb as you fiddled with the control panel.

If that wasn’t enough you could listen to the radio on one of the three AM preset stations either while riding the bike or parked up hanging out with their pals. Later models came with a MW tuner giving even less crappy sound quality.

The main feature though was the advanced warning and alarm system. Once you had chosen one of the eight sounds from the ‘revolutionary sound generator’ on the top tube mounted control panel, you could use the handlebar mounted controller to terrorise old ladies as you rallied around the housing estate
