You used the words chihuahua and taco. Maybe you just don't realize you're writing Spanish when you do it.

About 2014, HOA decided to do some upgrade to our water main coming from the street. The guy came out with a weedeater and damaged my mailbox post. I reported it to the board and they said they would take care of it. Two weeks later I got a violation in the mail for damaged mailbox post. I went to the board website and they told me I had to repair it or face a fine. Right about this time the builder stepped down and handed the HOA to an attorneys office to manage. I reached out to the attorney to forward them the first message and ask them to repair my mailbox post and they said they would send someone out. About a month later I got a notice from the HOA that said this was my third warning (it was my second) and they were going to put a lein on my house if I didn't pay the fine, fix the mailbox post, and now pay a separate fee to the attorneys office since they were managing it.

I sent the HOA and the attorneys office copies of both of their messages saying they would handle it with a picture of my damaged mailbox post. Three months later, we get the yearly Financials from the board and the attorneys office charged the HOA $1,800 to put a $500 lein on the title of my home that we had paid off after trying to go through my previous mortgage holder's legal department to try to get the fine out of my escrow that no longer existed.

We sold the house with a damaged mailbox post last year. Our new neighborhood has no HOA.

To try to get Democrats to vote for him when he split out to strengthen Trump's chances. He was relying on his name, but his statements and opinions kept getting in the way and making it obvious what he really was.

On the bright side... Rush Limbaugh's grave is now a gender neutral bathroom.

Thanks to laws passed by Trump allies in the state Legislature, Raffensperger has been removed from the election board. Other members were removed as well, eventually handing control of the board to a three-member MAGA majority that is dedicated not to free and fair elections but to elections that Trump can win. Trump himself, at a recent rally in Georgia, celebrated those three members, by name, as his “pitbulls” for victory.

Lots of Christian conservatives have turned away from Trump and have a chance of voting couch over him. Now if there's a chance a gay man might be president it may motivate a lot of people to get up and keep the gay man from being in charge. Nothing motivates voters like fear or hate. The left would have to be 100% behind him and foaming at the mouth to go out and vote, or else it'd be a win for the Rs. That being said, a black woman carries a slightly less chance of that. The racists are already 100% behind trump and motivated to get Mr. Very Fine People on Both Sides back in the oval office.

I'd vote Pete though... I was hoping he'd get the 2020 nomination.

Honestly I believe it's western media. Antisemitism, antizionism, anti-Israel, and anti-Netanyahu are interchangeable in both left and right leaning networks. They are all vastly different and yet conflated as the se in western media and government.

Yeah, but felons can't legally carry a gun, so...

Our experts confirm Washington secretly rotated his slaves out of the state, sometimes just sending them over the river to New Jersey, so they couldn’t claim their freedom.

“He actually instructs his secretary to do it in a way that will deceive them, meaning the slaves and the public,” MacLeod said. “So, he doesn't want his actions to become common knowledge because he knows that there are so many abolitionists in the city that it could become a PR disaster for him.”

In 1793, Washington signs the Fugitive Slave Act into law, which helps slaveholders recapture enslaved people who have escaped.

Not ultralight gear list (lighterpack.com)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by Saprophyte@lemmy.world to c/backpacking@lemmy.ml

I'm new to the community and thought a little activity on the community couldn't hurt!

I am a pretty large guy (6'2", 240lbs) who's also pushing 50. As much as I'd like to do ultralight, I struggle to keep my base weight around 20lbs because I need large gear and sleeping on the ground is not that sexy for me. Plus... I have a chair because sitting on the ground is about as unsexy as sleeping on the ground is. I started off with a 50+lb pack and have gotten better gear as I've gotten more into backpacking.

I've done the CA section of PCT and now I do section hikes on the AT as I live on the east coast now. My trail name is JoePaca, and if you've seen me at a camp, I'm pretty easy to remember.

I'm happy to give honest opinions on any of the gear in my list, but I'm pretty happy with all of it.

A rpi 4 running pihole and small scale backups through rsync, two HP elitedesks, one running ESXi 6.7, other running Ubuntu with multipass and docker, and a Dell SFF running unraid.

It ain't much, but it gives me some play areas and backup capabilities for the house.
