The election is a show for Americans. The citizens have no say.

The people who really matter in that country win either way, that's why there's only 2 chosen people available to vote for. The illusion of free will.

I'm amazed by the Americans. They never seem to understand the underlying reason for a lot of things, I wonder how much longer it'll go on.

I think in ToS Uhura knows a bunch of different languages and she's like "this bit is similar to this language and this bit is similar to that language". I always thought that made some kind of sense.
