It's a ban. They have stated in no uncertain terms that they will not sell or separate any interests. It's not for our "security" or any of that absolute BS either. It's for their own profits and because they want people's data.

The fact that you'd want our media to even remotely resemble the highly sensored versions in China is insane to me. Y'all are just happy to go along with this because you don't like tiktok. That's it. That's all it took for a lot of you. I'd say I expected better but it's becoming more obvious every day that lemmy is where the old and out of touch people migrated to. Despite it seeming like it would be the opposite.

You genuinely don't care if the government oversteps as long as it fits your bias. The fact that they couldn't get it to go through as a single issue twice so they had to shove it with other issues just to get their way should be enough to piss most people off but here we are. It's a shame. I'm disappointed in how easily manipulated so many of you are. Truly.

Except for the part where they couldn't get support for it twice so they shoved it in here to get their way? But that's ok because you don't like the silly dancing app that you know basically nothing about right? Other than "China bad", of course.

You might as well just not vote at all because not a single president will ever keep every campaign promise they make. Ever. You don't have to like it but that's reality and the only reason to be mad about it for one specific candidate over another is personal bias.

Obviously everyone should vote but unless you're new to all of this you should already know to pick your battles. If campaign promises weren't kept you should research it and know why before you complain about it.

Asking how old someone is completely defeats the purpose. We've seen how boomers mishandled things and pulled the ladders up behind them so let's not pretend that being old and remembering 1994 "like it was pretty recent" (it wasn't) makes your opinion in any way superior.

What you pay in taxes isn't YOUR money so get over it.

I don't make the ahhh sound but I do hold it with both hands close to my face. It's for the warmth and I really couldn't care less about anyone that weirdly has an issue with that. What a strange thing to be bothered by...

Why wouldn't you want everyone around you to be at least moderately comfortable? Is it really that hard to just shut up and let someone be for a few minutes? I don't mind socializing but sometimes I just wanna wander off on my own for a few minutes to recharge. Is that really so much to ask? Then people take it personally when I politely ask them to give me a few minutes as if I'm being rude.

Not being aware something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Sounds gross to me but I wouldn't even be mildly surprised if it existed

I don't know how familiar you are with salad dressing but you don't usually pour the entire batch of dressing on one salad lol
