I don't trust them either, that's why I've never given them a single cent. My entire account is literally just free games (and I have certainly gotten a few good ones over the years, although the vast majority is crap). If I'm actually going to buy something I'll go to GOG or Steam.

No, they don't charge higher transaction fees in order to pay those reward rates, they just give up on making any profit from that and instead try to profit from charging interest. Which of course is disproportionately paid from people who cannot actually afford it.
