I'm using Ubuntu on my Dell XPS 17, connected to a Dell Dock via USB-C, that has 2 monitors connected with Displayport. Sometimes on signal acquisition, screens remain black, and I have to lock the session (Win + L), wait a few seconds, then wake up the laptop, so signal may or may not be correctly acquired (otherwise I'd do it again until it works)

On Windows, there's this shortcut, Win + Ctrl + Shift + B, that acts as if the screen were disconnected/reconnected. It may help with my signal acquisition problem. Is there an equivalent on Ubuntu/Linux, please ?

Unlike Lemmy, Mastodon doesn't have a "URL" field to share a link with preview in the post. Any URL shared is included in the post itself, greatly decreasing its visibility.

Is there a way to post from Mastodon that would set a link as previewed URL ?

Pretty sure it requires GApps, I don't believe Android Auto needs internet access to work but it requires regular updates on several Google apps

Not sure who needs to read this, but if like me you're using Android Auto with your LineageOS/other libre OS smartphone, you probably need to go to Android Auto's development settings (click 10x on Android Auto's version number) > "Allow apps from unknown sources", so that apps from Aurora Store/F-Droid can connect correctly to Android Auto. I used to have "Media Unavailable" whenever I tried to play things on my car, and this fixed it.

That's a way to share opinions on things we watch, read, listen. Pretty much like Bookwyrm does for books.

What do you think of it ? https://neodb.social/discover/
