I think that poster is right in this context. It gets abbreviated and used as a defense of there just being "a few bad apples" and they they just drop/ignore the reset of the phrase.

The thing that often gets me is when it's a screen that's entire purpose is to show you the loading symbol (so you know what it looks like and not to shut off the console during it) and you just click to continue.
So in this case I typically notice just the symbol and an waiting for it to go away on a screen where it will never go away.
I think Persona 5 Royal and/or Yakuza: Like a Dragon are examples of games that have this when you first start them.

This comment from another post of the same article has some good counter points on why this probably isn't as bad as it sounds.
While ridiculous, there's interesting context here.
Greenland has little to no economy
The ice is mined from ice that has already broken away from the glacier, thus not reducing any more than nature has already
Cargo ships bringing frozen food used to leave empty, now that same fuel is used to transport ice back instead of going to waste
The founder has always dreamed of a sustainable economy for Greenland
He is conflicted about how his work to do this in a sustainable way is being taken
The follow up comments are worth reading too.
There's no harm in condom + anything else considering all the horror stories of condoms accidentally/intentionally not working.
This gives another option that sounds pretty easy and not very invasive for anyone.
The money goes where? Read that part again.
Stays in America paying American salaries which goes back to the country via their taxes.
Where cold?
I haven't really followed this too closely so good chance I am misremembering or just wrong here.
Didn't he essential steal from everyone using FTX since customers are likely not going to get much back after the portion for taxes and whatever else is taken out first?
That would include a lot of rich people but probably a lot of average people and irresponsible/poor people as well.
Yeah just figured I'd mention it since it became a bit more relevant to include that he wrote it.
I agree with you.
Yeah I've never got that kind of bad vibe from him. I also left out the part where he even touched on how privileged his life is and how grateful he is for that or how he said him being harassed for being transphobic is nothing like what LGBTQ+ people have to go through.
It's really shitty as it'd be cool to have someone like him showing up randomly on Lemmy like other celebs kind of do on Reddit (Arnold Schwarzenegger only one coming to mind at the moment).
Maybe he will give it another shot someday but I guess I don't see there ever not being a huge group of people waiting to harass him.
I read most of it (skimming some paragraphs) and it sounds like he got dog piled with "go fuck yourself Westley" and other memes constantly and also mass reported while being told to apologize for being transphobic (which he claims he isn't and says he has apologized for whatever made people think that but the demands for apology never stop).
Admin told him his account is banned because he doesn't want to deal with the reports Wil also was saying it wasn't just people from that instance who harassed him and in some places like a painting section he was welcomed and had some good experiences.
Overall he said it was a bad experience and that maybe because of his reputation he will never be able to enjoy social media when people know who he is.
I probably missed some stuff or maybe misunderstood some of what he said and obviously this is his reasons paraphrased.
FWIW I know very little about him outside of the memes. No idea why people think he is transphobic or any other reason they may hate him.
All kids are victimized but most conservatives don't care until it's their kid specifically. Kind of like most political issues that people who have empathy care about.
Only if you're already rich or in the right social circles though. Everyone else gets fined/jail time of course.
