To skirt Canadian employment laws, a previous employer gave me unrealistic targets and even when I acheived them she would say I'm underperforming. This exists in every country. Employers will always find a way to make it look like the employee quit of their own volition.

I think part of the issue is the individualistic culture of Ottawa. Everyone just minds their own business to a fault here.

Possibly because they refuse to admit that they are being obtuse.

Konami published a lot of games that had potential but they didn't really take them anywhere.

You could probably build something decent for CAD$1000. Canada computers often have massive discounts on a lot of items. US$700 to CAD$1000 is not that far apart. The console would probably still be more performant but the point is, the prices are not that far apart anymore.

That has been pretty much my life lately here in Ottawa. I'll take boring any day over busy, overcrowded cities.

What helps me is listening to music with repeating sounds. It paces me and allows me to keep doing things for a longer period of time.

I pass this thing almost every week. It's not that creepy in real life.

I thought Canada's pride and glory was Eidos Montreal and now you're telling me Blizzard North was here too? Oh goodie!

People give me a weird look when I spell out dates like this. It's easier for me to say it that way and it's correct. I don't get why people are iffy about it

I'm looking for a meditation class that I can attend on a weekly (once or twice) basis. I found a lot of classes around that have a religious or philosophical flavor or ones that include yoga with meditation. I suffer from chronic pain and alexithymia and I feel like guided mindfulness meditation (Like the ones available through the Headspace app) to be very helpful. Anyone knows if there are any classes like that in the area?
