I just wanted to say this is the kind of comments that make Lemmy better than reddit! I had to dig to the very bottom of the reddit post for someone to point this out versus this being the top comment on Lemmy.

Note: I am all for helping homeless people, but excluding information in the title makes this seem like 'if we give every homeless person $7,500 we can solve homelessness!' I wish that was the case, but homelessness is a much more complicated issue

I was thinking smokies for a moment, but I don't think they're shaped like that at any point

Interesting, I guess I'll need to download when it goes from PTU to Live.

I appreciate the response!

So, with this update how is Arena commander now? Once in a blue moon I would download and play it, but it always seemed a little buggy. I specifically remember having issues with the flight models (fighting with the AI was a lot of 'knife fighting', where we would each fly at each other at high speeds, slightly damage each other, and then turn around, but maybe that was my fault).

I also remember the missile system either straight up not working or being OP and immediately killing ships (including mine).

Arena Commander being great is a big dream of mine. I just want to sit down and dogfight in space alot of the time. It would require significantly less work than Elite where I have to fly around and find a combat area/mission to dog fight (and in the end I only really break even b/c the cost of the ammo I was using sucks up any money I made on the contract...)

Fuck me id kill for some Spam musubi right now

So, prior to being on Lemmy I used to use old.reddit.com (with reddit gold) and sync for reddit. If I read a post on the desktop version of the site, it would mark it as read on the app as well. Is there anyway to do this on Lemmy? I imagine it is something that hasn't been implemented yet, but I thought I would ask.

Does anyone have a guide to Traefik for an absolute idiot (myself)?

I was able to get a freshrss server running using dockercompose and was able to connect to it on my local network, but all the guides I read said I NEED to have a reverse proxy before I access it remotely.

This is probably my sign I need to actually learn how to use docker instead of being lazy as hell and copy/pasting code, but I thought I'd ask.

Well, that's sad :(

After the fall of the Berlin Wall Schumann said, "Only since 9 November 1989 [the date of the fall] have I felt truly free." Even so, he continued to feel more at home in Bavaria than in his birthplace, citing old frictions with his former colleagues, and was even hesitant to visit his parents and siblings in Saxony. When he returned to East Germany after the reunification to visit his relatives, he was rejected by them. They saw him as a traitor who abandoned his family.

On 20 June 1998, suffering from depression, he committed suicide, hanging himself in his orchard near the town of Kipfenberg in Upper Bavaria. His body was found by his wife a few hours later.[4]

TBH, it was literally Day 1 hours after they released it. I think they patched the issue within a couple days, but by then I had already refunded. I'm impressed that it runs on Steam Deck. That's some good optimization especially for a triple A game that just came out.

Added the ability to sort by date added to library to shelves and game grids.

I can finally stare at my backlog while I fail to move through it!

Battlebit has been scratching this itch really well for me lately. I hope the battlefield series can make a return to form but I am not holding my breath. Shooters tend to change with the times (imagine if all games still played like the original DOOM?) and I imagine they're going to keep changing things, but hopefully for the better.

It's interesting to compare Battlefield vs. Call of Duty and how the games have done in the past decade. COD is still a top seller and is doing great, Battlefield not so much. I feel like they both have iterated in ways (the newer COD games are similar to the ones I played in the early ~2010's, but there have been some changes), but the ways COD has iterated have been better accepted. They even had a Battle Royale attached to the game (It sounds like BF was trying to do this at one point) and it was positively received as well.

I REALLY REALLY wanted this game to pan out because I love the genre. Too bad it flopped hard :(.

I bought it day 1 with the intent of (at a minimum) giving it a try until my refund period ran out and it ran like ass. The opening cutscene was a slideshow and that's with me running a Ryzen 7 5800x, GTX 3070, and 32gb of ram. I started googling to see if it was an issue with drivers or my system and that was when I started seeing reviews for it that weren't too great. I went ahead and refunded it at that point.

Fantastic read, thanks for sharing!!!

Patch Notes

Party Codes

  • New feature that enables players to join parties without adding each other as Steam Friends

Report Player Shortcut

  • Left Shift + F1/2/3/4, etc will bring up the report menu for the respective player, without having to go to the scoreboard. This makes it easier to report players for abusive behavior, or other inappropriate conduct

Stat-Sync Protection

  • A rare case has been fixed where a player's progress would reset if they joined a game server while the player stats servers were being updated. This happened because the game server would receive the player's stats as level 0, which would reset the player's progress.
    • To fix this, the game server will now no longer let a player join if it fails to fetch their stats. This will prevent players from joining the server with level 0.
    • Additionally, the backend will no longer accept saving stats of a player if their rank is less than it was before. This will help to prevent players from intentionally resetting their progress.

Objective Capture Zones

  • Sizes have been reduced to 50%/75% of their original size in some areas. This should improve the user experience in CONQ and FRONTLINE game modes, as it will make it easier to defend objectives and allow your team to spawn on them until the enemy enters the capture zone and triggers the spawn lock. This change will also make it more difficult to hide in one of the many buildings on the map and stay in the enemy objective in order to disable their spawn.

Placed Gadget Persistence

  • Players will now be limited in the amount of C4s, mines, claymores, ammo kits, etc. that they can place at the same time.

    • C4s will be destroyed when a player dies. A maximum of 6 can be placed. If a player tries to place a 7th C4, the first one will be destroyed to maintain a total of 6.
    • Claymores and mines will not be destroyed when a player dies. However, only 4 can be placed at a time. If a player tries to place a 5th claymore or mine, the first one will be destroyed to ensure that there are only 4 at a time.
  • Domination: Reviving players will no longer return tickets.

  • Eduardovo: CONQ 32v32 received a unique layout that is separate from the 127v127 playable area.

  • Salhan: RU Border has been extended on the west side (Cav exit) to make spawn camping more difficult.

  • Frugis: The last stage of Rush received changes allowing the attacking team to exit from a subway near the enemy spawn.

  • Wakistan: Domination 32v32 layout will now feature an east coast line layout. The old layout will be moved to 16v16

  • The number of players in enemy vehicles will no longer be shown on the map when they are spotted.

  • When placing walls, there will be a half-player-size space margin requirement to avoid clipping. This means that there must be at least half the size of a player between the wall and any other object, such as another wall or a player. This is to prevent the wall from clipping through other objects, which can cause visual and gameplay issues.

  • Fixed an issue where players would not switch to their primary weapon when placing a claymore while throwing a grenade

  • Fixed an issue where the friend list would not load until the party menu was hovered over

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to pass the main menu due to avatar images

  • Fixed the broken Progress Bar at the bottom of the screen

  • A bug where players could sometimes walk during the countdown on Frontline has been fixed.

  • Fixed an issue causing players to lag while using the Rappelling Rope

  • Spectator camera improved.---
