Ideally, you work towards an associates degree which then makes it even easier to transfer to a university. Many states have agreements between community colleges and universities where your associate's degree counts for the first 2 years of studies and all of your electives. So when you start a university you jump right into your major. However, you will have to take more than just one class at the community college.

We need more Democrats in the Senate. To get that we need better representation in States or more senators. Folks have to start working at the local and state level to start affecting change, because in the current system it's really hard to make that happen from the top down.

We should totally be going for a judicial reform, both of the district, federal circuit, and supreme Court levels. Republicans have what they have today because they've had a 40 to 50-year strategy led by the Federalist society to put conservative judges and positions of power up and down the ladder. And Democrats are about 30 years behind.

AFIK, all the subsides for EVa in the US already require them to be made and produced domestically.

I don't think our industrialized food and unwalkable cities are mutually exclusive when it comes to obesity.

Given that abortion and legal weed will both be on the ballot in Florida this cycle, turnout could a lot different this time around.

Rather than no socks, get a pair of no-show socks. Especially if you'll be wearing them on multiple occasions where your feet will sweat, otherwise you'll probably get blisters and eventually your shoes will stink very badly.

Hit up one of the poster vendors that usually visits university campuses to get some wall decoration.

A RGB lighting strip around the roof perimeter can do wonders for setting the mod of the room.

If you have want to have people in your room to hang out, consider getting a futon instead of a bed. Won't do your back any favors, but will be more functional during the college years.

You can get a watch repair kit on Amazon that will have the tools to remove the pins between the links.

I've also had luck going to a department store with a jewelery counter and seeing if they can make adjustments. Especially if it's a brand of watch they carry, you can always say someone got it as a gift for you from that chain of stores.

I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I heard the argument made that AI maybe would be better for killing. People mess up all the time and misidentify threats which causes collateral damage in conflicts often. AI in theory could be much better at this identification process.

It's kind of the same argument with self driving cars: we freak out whenever they get in an accident, but people causing thousands of accidents a day doesn't cause an outage.

Not saying I necessarily agree with either argument, but they do make me question how we think about and evaluate technology.

Wait, is this not satire?

Traffic enforcement and red light cameras. I used to be very opposed to them, but I've since come to appreciate the absurdity of America's car central culture.

Additionally, traffic stops by police disproportionately effect minorities and lead to escalations and other issues, while taking away enforcement capacity from more important things.

I still don't think the cameras should necessarily be run by private, for profit entities. Nor would I really want cameras that ticket you if you go 1 mph over. But in general I'm much less opposed to the idea than I used to be.
