Bruh. I'm a millennial and I talk to friends like that.

Time to grow up and be miserable like the rest of us.

probably one of the last millenials born then. Kind of like xennials are a thing there should be a millenials / zoomer hybrid... poor bastards

Yeeaaaah, though it's weird because I feel like I straddle gen x, millennials and zoomers in terms of my personal experiences growing up. I'm on the edge of millennial and zoomer, but there are things I experienced growing up that makes me feel some connection with gen x.

Do you have Gen X family members? That's how I can relate to them despite being a Millenial, because my cousins were a decade older than me and made me watch all the same movies they did when growing up.

these generations divides are one big grey area anyway there will always be influences that seperate each. the main thing it tries to convey is that there is a different zeitgeist for each generation. something interesting i will see unfold is with my youngest daughter, now 3, i myself am on the gen x - millenial line and will be raising a generation alpha while having 2 zoomers as well. interesting times ahead

As if people here never responded to stuff with "dope," "rad," "as if," etc.

People who get upset at kids using their slang are no different from boomers who got upset at them for using their slang

Yeah seriously; I don't get why they're excited. We already have thousands of music streaming providers and record pools.

[–] ShadedCosmos@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Nobody in this screenshot is excited, all of these responses are neutral lol

That’s what cracks me up about it

It's the opposite of something being cap.

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] Iapar@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Seriously?

What does cap stand for? A hat? A maximum of something? Chris Evans?

[–] bassomitron@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

It's actually an old slang term. Look up the etymology of it. It's just the youth revitalizing something old and putting it into modern contexts, like virtually every generation does and will continue to do in their youth at some point.

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Don’t know, I’m a boomer

I think that is a step down from just grunting.
