This is why developers stop listening to feedback. Because so much feedback is trash.

I've hopped into quickplays with people bitching about how nerfed it is, how shitty everything has become, and how terrible the devs are... While actively using the "nerfed" weapons and are completely stomping over a mission.

I don't blame the devs for snarky and troll comments. We players deserve them.

Which is why game companies often have community managers or something similar. To sift through the trash and forward the good feedback.

This is also why developers hide behind PRs instead of communicating directly btw.

People made such a stink about the minor nerfs to Breaker and Railgun and didn't even try out the buffed items like the flamethrower, which now melts chargers.

I keep hearing that, but I've not had luck with it as of yet. I need a few more dives to get the FT mechanics down, I think.

Flamethrower works but has a fraction of the range with the very high chance of self immolation

The other day I watched a teammate pick up a flamethrower, give it a try, and in less than 2 seconds from picking it up they had set themselves on fire. It was absolutely ridiculous.

That was pretty funny though. Immature maybe, but somewhat entertaining.

It's inevitable people are upset when the previously top tier weapons get nerfed. I really felt the difficulty spike playing yesterday (and got good laughs from failing a challenge level 7 mission followed by the game crashing).

I think the overall difficulty was easier than where the devs intended it to be so I'm not very surprised. I think it will smooth itself out as time goes on, ideally there will be multiple weapons/builds with high levels of effectiveness rather than a single "meta" loadout.

I think the real problem is guns got nerfed and at the same time, environmental hazards were introduced. I saw 3-4 reinforcements going to people hit by meteors. I think people will get used to it, but right now it's kind of fun how it feels like early dives again, just utter chaos.

Environmental hazards that you can’t do jack shit about other then pray you don’t get hit, no less.

[–] inflatablerobot@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Yeah they just insta kill you out of nowhere. I think it would be more fun if they ragdolled the shit out of you and launched you some distance. But just getting deleted is demoralizing.

Meteors light up where they will hit

I'm part of the discord and the people were far worse than any dev comments.

The nerfs weren't even that bad, I admit I was using the breaker, railgun, and shield pack pretty often. The breakers change is totally fine, 3 less rounds and a little more recoil. Hardly noticeably. The shield pack was technically just fixed as now its healthbar is properly displayed and has an instant recharge compared to before where it felt very inconsistent. And the railgun just needs to be put in unsafe mode, which I have a feeling half the people complaining didn't even know existed - I had completely forgotten about it because it just wasn't necessary.

Plus we got some buffs so now other weapons can be used. Like, it's a pretty decent patch all things considered.
