Hi - I have been a ubiquiti home user for a few years now. Have an edgerouter X + 2 aps at home, and a udm-pro, 4aps, 4 cameras setup at another property, so I'm relatively familiar with the software and possible options.
I've recently moved and am wanting to upgrade my home setup. I almost pulled the trigger on a UDM as it fit my needs pretty close, but the 700mbps cap was a deal breaker.
-
2 APs, minimum 1 over POE but ideally 2
-
PC, Printer, NAS hardwired
-
Ideally a few extra eth ports for a little more expansion beyond that
-
I would like to add a camera and/or doorbell camera eventually, likely wireless.
I guess the catch is I'm just a home user, and my needs are pretty basic. I don't really want to have rackmount equipment at home as it's overkill for my needs and bulky.
So from my perspective that rules out the Dream lineup. I'm not sure what other options I would have so any suggestions would be appreciated. What comes to mind is something like a USG + Lite Switch 8 but not sure if that's the right fit.
Does Ubiquiti have any plans to release a newer version of the UDM that has gigabit ethernet?
Thanks
