The Magical Fruit

The Oromo people would customarily plant a coffee tree on the graves of powerful sorcerers. They believed that the first coffee bush sprang up from the tears that the god of heaven shed over the corpse of a dead sorcerer.

At most, I made two cups using the standard Aeropress with Hoffman's recipe. But this Aeropress XL gives me the idea of making large batch for making iced coffee through the week.

But for the price... I think I'd still go with large clever dripper. Even though at most I could only put 450 ml in.

Anyone excited for this XL?

To me, the value proposition for Aeropress has always been that it was a very inexpensive way to make an acceptable cup of coffee. Bumping the price to $70 for a plastic tube seems insane, but I guess it's nice to have options.

I can’t imagine the market for the xl is gonna be huge. It can’t really compete against proper espresso, and there’s already pour over for batch brewing (which works absolutely fine and produces arguably better results, with less hassle and cleanup. That said, I love my OG aeropress and it always comes with me when I go camping.
