This sounds incredibly cool and definitely like a project worth pursuing over a few months of sabbatical (outside of the race itself)!

A friend who is into ultra endurance cycling competed in the TransCon last year.

He rides a Brompton in sandals!

He's also completed the PanCeltic Race multiple times as well as the Trans Atlantic Way
