Not only did he not support anti-pedophile laws this time, he also spoke in favor of George Pell and dismissed his trial as a witch-hunt, despite findings that at the very least Pell knowingly allowed pedophiles access to children (and possibly more than that).

So I'm not saying Peter Dutton protects pedophiles. I'm just saying that it does look awfully like he does.

He looks like he can cast spells so powerful, nobody dares speak his name.

I demand that Dutton dissolves the LNP.

Nobody cares, Afolf Kipfler. Maybe try suing them and losing to the truth defence? Send AFP goons to intimidate them?

He does seem to be getting very litigious. I look forward to him suing the Australian population for not making him prime minister

Potatoes aren't known for their thick skin.

Fascists, on the other hand are renowned for adoring heavy-handed authoritarian intervention as they bleat about freedom - but only insofar as it can be weaponised against those they don't like and used to protect themselves and ther fragile egos.

I thought things were looking pretty good for a LNP victory next year? ALP has kinda shat the bed I think.

I'm not so certain. Abbott was the same, but the relentless attack politics resonated with older Australians.

[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 1 points 11 months ago

abbot was viewed as a tolerable kinda village idiot. Dutton is viewed as a hairless hitler and a cunt to boot.

If you're not familiar with Australian politics, it would be worth knowing that he usually gets compared to Voldemort.

Or to a potato. For reasons that are only obvious in certain photos.

Careful, you might get the fixated persons unit on you.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The government passed new laws two weeks ago to impose ankle monitoring bracelets and curfews on all people unless the minister decided a person did not pose a risk to the community.

"Peter Dutton did not support laws that we brought in earlier this week to make it a criminal offence for convicted paedophiles to go near schools," she told Channel Nine.

Mr Dutton was a police officer for almost a decade before entering parliament, and has built his political career on being tough on crime, with a particular focus on protecting children from child sex offenders.

"The prime minister in the parliament himself has praised me in the past for setting up the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation which has saved thousands of kids from paedophiles.

Last week the opposition successfully convinced the government to amend legislation that beefed up restrictions imposed on those released from immigration detention.

"The amendments proposed today will also strengthen the authority for the collection and use of information gathered by electronic monitoring devices," he told parliament.
