IMPORTANT

Please do not post the "good friend" or similar copypasta

==========

Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

On the other hand, he didn't get two of his limbs chopped off and end up thrown into a pit of lava a short time later, requiring him to spend the rest of his life in an armored suit. So maybe the incest was worth it?

Look at Darth Vader. I stand by my statement.

[–] M500@lemmy.ml 13 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I could be wrong, but I read someone else’s comment years ago that said the suit was like that on purpose and it was a way for the emperor to control him or something.

Anyway, that might not even be canon even if it’s in some book or game.

Number of younglings slain:

Luke - 0
Anakin - Numerous

[–] erusuoyera@sh.itjust.works 28 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Are we absolutely sure there were no kids on the deathstar?

[–] victron@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Fair point, but... why would they lol

[–] zalgotext@sh.itjust.works 18 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (5 children)

The Death Star was huge, I'm sure people fucked and made babies on it. I doubt they would just let people leave the Death Star to go raise their kids. That either means kids were just ejected into space, or they were raised on the Death Star.

Given Darth Vader's history with children, it's not unlikely that he just said "fuck them kids" and had them yeeted, but it's funnier to imagine a Death Star Day Care, so imma go with that as my head canon.

Edit: you guys are coming up with some valid counterpoints, but my head canon is still funnier, so I'm sticking with it.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I was in a band called Death Star Daycare. We mostly did Nina Hagen covers.

[–] CosmicCleric@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

I was in a band called Death Star Daycare.

That's, actually, not bad, at all.

Although I'm sure the Disney attorneys would probably have some issues with that name, potentially.

"Master Skywalker, there are too many of them. What are we going to do?"

"We're gonna SIIING!"

Luke at 22: Jedi Master

Anakin at 22: ...

[–] mack7400@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago

Bet Anakin had power converters, though.

[–] zeekaran@sopuli.xyz 43 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Luke at 22: Blew up the Death Star

Kinda big thing to not include

[–] Jinn@sh.itjust.works 20 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I think he was 19 when he blew up the Death Star. 22 when he kissed Leia in ESB which I believe takes place 2 years after A New Hope.

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 10 points 11 months ago (2 children)

2 years after A New Hope.

20,21…22

Erm

Guys can we please not make comparisons like this? Everybody is on their own life journey at their own pace. Anakin was taken in to be the apprentice of a great Jedi master when he was but a wee lad, luke had no opportunities beyond farming dirt and constructing additional pylons with his aunt and uncle well into adulthood.

These types of comparisons are unfair and unhealthy and promote unrealistic expectations on young impressionable minds.

Tbf, they both made out with a princess, and while Anakin mostly farmed bots for exp Luke's actual KDA was amazing.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 23 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Did the death star have a daycare? If so, he got anakin beat on younglings slaughtered too.

[–] ericisshort@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I don’t think so. The Death Star was a military vessel, and spouses/children don’t usually don’t get to come along on those sorts of things. Having said that, maybe there would be some children on if there was some sort of christening celebration or school field trip on board at the time of the attack.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern 15 points 11 months ago (4 children)

No, it's canon there were families on board. It was simply too large to be anything but a city in space.

[–] Alivrah@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Yeah but they were evil so it doesn't count /s

[–] DragonTypeWyvern 6 points 11 months ago (5 children)

No /s necessary, you live in something called The Death Star, a weapon fresh from killing a planet, and you're officially the eggs in the anti-evil omelette.

Anakin lost to Obi Wan so I'm not sure how you can consider him the strongest Jedi.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 20 points 11 months ago (2 children)

He lost because he was arrogant, not because he was weak. That's the entire point of the "it's over Anakin, I have the high ground" thing.

Even the strongest Jedi is no match for the High Ground.

He destroyed the Death Star and rescued a princess. Those seem notable.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 20 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I had a friend that "trained" french kissing on her brother. She told me this when we were +25 like it was super nornal and one of the pluses of having a brother (he was 1 year young only, so he wasn't being abused. They were just like this)

These are the dangers of exposing kids to Star Wars too early.

[–] SirStumps@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago (2 children)

I mean, compare them at 23 next.

[–] Gabu@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Anakin - supreme commander of all Empire forces, feared across the galaxy. Can do any crime with no repercussion, except treason.
Luke - Stranded on a swamp.

[–] Exusia@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

thank you, I will go look for a sister then

[–] dQw4w9WgXcQ@lemm.ee 14 points 11 months ago (1 children)

"Future father" is the glass half-full version of "former child".

[–] QwertySpace@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

I suppose "expecting father" is probably the more accurate phrase

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 14 points 11 months ago

Anakin at 22 will be a father in the future.

lol

[–] calmnchaos@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

Ahem, he was also bulls-eyeing womp rats in his T-16.
