Call up, schedule an appointment, have them remove the card, and then kick them out.

It even says "Junk removal" on the business card!

[–] CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago

Just obscure what's on it somehow so as to not give away the punchline too early.

Use a vacuum cleaner with a detached hose. While applying suction from the screen side, slide the nozzle up while dragging the card with it.

Someone could make WikiHow out of this.

[–] anewbeginning@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

15 steps and images for something that takes half a dozen words to explain.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

"Remove screws"

[–] fsniper@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You can use pencils as supports too

There's a finer screen that isn't very easy to see in the thumbnail.

Open the door, then light it on fire

[–] SpezCanLigmaBalls@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I agree with this option the most

[–] kamenlady@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

The safest way, would be to use a flamethrower

[–] wanderingmagus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The real solution

In my country, a solicitor is a lawyer, so looking at the business card confused the fuck out of me for a moment!

Can you pry the screen out from that corner, remove the card, then just pry it back (maybe some sealant, I have zero DIY skills)?

[–] psud@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Visiting the US years ago I got a chuckle out of "no solicitors" signs

can you jiggle the bits around and get it to pop out the bottom?

The snort-laugh that I just made after reading your reply disturbed my dog. Thanks for the guffaw!

[–] Laticauda@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

So many suggestions here are so needlessly complicated. Just put some tape on the end of a thin stick 🤦

[–] ngdev@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

Go to a local business, steal the bowl of business cards for a free dinner raffle, and start an immortalized game of connect 4 in your door.

[–] LazaroFilm@lemmy.film 17 points 1 year ago

Call them and ask them to remove it.

[–] linearchaos@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

I agree with calling the guy to get it out, but a close second would be to put thin piece double-sided tape around the tip of a bamboo skewer feed it down in press the card to it and pull it out. if one skewer isn't enough, tape a second one to the first one

Don’t hire these assholes.

[–] AlexWIWA@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 year ago

This happened to me with my car window. I had to take the door panel off to get it out

[–] Butters@lemmywinks.com 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Get a full sized piece of paper that you can slide in from the top, that shout teach the card but can still be pulled out from the top. Use tape to stick the card to the paper. Then pull it out.

[–] LoafyLemon@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Double sided tape on a stick should do the job.

[–] RozhkiNozhki@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Is the opening at the top wide enough for a thin grabby tool aka claw picker?

[–] BroBot9000@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago
[–] Tankaus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

You better put some water on that damn shit!

  • Pops from Friday
[–] STRIKINGdebate2@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Bite it out.

[–] zatanas@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Perhaps you could use a pair of tongs? Maybe BBQ tongs.

If NirodhaAvidya's vacuum approach doesn't work out for you and you can't find an easy way to get the screen door apart, a couple sewing needles (or something similar) might do the trick. Stab the card toward a corner, rotate it so the far corner is higher up, stab with another needle, remove the first one and repeat to walk it up toward an opening where you can grab it. Might have to pick a new spot to poke it every few iterations if you're not getting enough friction to make the card move.
