Asterisk on Denmark - the National team was amateurs only until 1971, up until then, as soon as you became a professional footballer, you were ineligible for the National team. It took a further ten years for professional football culture to properly take hold and dictate ambitions and training. A lot of our "all time" stats are affected by literally fielding a bunch of amateurs long after most other nations had gone full professional.

Considering Portugal were shit until 96, it's quite a good result
We have 19 wins and only 2 of those were after winning against Czechia in the 2012 QFs
We weren't that shit, qualifying was harsher than it is now and we were unlucky a few times.
People on this sub would have you believe that we only became good because of Ronaldo
I mean... 26/39 games here had Ronaldo in the squad. Portugal did well in the 84 and 00 euros though.
Croatia doing better than Yugoslavia with 3 times as many wins is pretty impressive
Keep in mind that from 1960 to 1976 the Euro was only a 4-team tournament, and from 1980 to 1992 an 8-team one.
While the first tournament Croatia took part in was composed of 16 teams until 2012, and 24 teams currently.
I think the format changes are what surprises younger people in terms of how few wins/losses teams have. Back in the day it was a very quick tournament, 2 games and done. Even the expanded format, 5 and done if you won it all
wtf is this? It's missing Romania.
Romania
Frate, Romania are O SINGURA victorie in toata istoria ei la campionatele europene.
We are massive.
You're missing a few
Only 37 countries ever qualified for the Euros. Look for the comment that says "here" in this post. Link to the rest is there.
Can't believe we will miss 24 team Euros, truly incredible failure
I totally get your sentiment, but Croatia having constantly been as good as they have with the number of inhabitants is definitely not the norm.
lol pls tell me ur joking Maria
The lac operon has a single promoter. The genes encode proteins that allow the bacteria to use lactose for energy.
Why would the lactose operon be switched on in the presence of glucose? There is already a source of energy, you fucking idiot.
This is basic biochemistry. Why the fuck would the operon be activated, does that make any sense?!??
A short story of Denmark and Turkey shitting the bed.
It's pretty crazy we have barely made it to any euros before 1996 and yet so high in these standings (Portugal by the end of the next Euros could potentially be 2nd in this list)
How dare you leave out the footballing powerhouse of Northern Ireland
Türkiye will actually participate in Euro 2024 for the 6th time. Euro 1996, Euro 2000, Euro 2008, Euro 2016, Euro 2020.
3 defeats in 1996, quarter-final in Euro 2000, Euro 2008 was semi-final and semi-final match, there were only 3 players on the bench, 1 of whom was a goalkeeper. It always reached the semi-finals with last minute goals. It participated in Euro 2016 thanks to a very interesting combination in the last match of the qualifiers. 6-7 different conditions had to be met. Euro 2020 was attended with great expectations and is the 2nd worst European Championship tournament performance in history.
There is always action. It's not ordinary. There is a lot of excitement and surprises.
Bottom 3 get relegated to Asia
Italy’s record is insane. Best Euro side of all time
Top 15 with only 3 euros is quite an achievement (1980 never happened)
Serbia never lost a EURO game 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
"Football is game of 11 vs 11 and in the end the Germans win."
Poland equals pain
Should see my country(Scotland) on the list of 37 teams. Only ever qualified for 3 Euros and were terrible at them all.
We were unlucky in ‘92 and went out in ‘96 on goal difference (we were going through until Seaman let the ball go through his legs when England pumped the Netherlands). We were shit at the last one.
I feel like I've seen at least 20 of those 10 England losses somehow.
5 wins, 3 draws, 8 losses and yet still more European championships than England
Surprisingly accurate ranking of the historical top teams in Europe imo. Maybe Portugal and England should switch places but other than that? Italy and Germany on par, clearly the top 2 nations by a margin
France will probably be in the top 3 by euros 2032
Greece really pulled an entire trophy out of those 5 wins. Only 1 outside of 2004!!
Portugal went directly from a team that didn't participate, only 1 in the first 8 tournaments, to a team that always goes far.
Before the last euros our worst result was quarterfinals.
We are massive
wtf we’ve only lost 6 euro matches?
guess it makes sense if we have a high percentage of making it out of the groups, as a loss eliminates us. still crazy
Also the advantage of simply not qualifying if your team is ""proper shit"", Italy never lost more than one game at an EC even when you went out in groups. You even managed to get knocked out in groups without a loss in 2004. Germany in contrast always qualified but has a lot of ECs with 2 losses, often that infamous 2nd group stage game, and sometimes even had 2 losses in group stages (2000).
If you count every extra game for Germany as a loss for Italy Italy would just have 1 more loss than Germany and I'm sure Italy wouldn't have lost every single group game with not even a draw. It's not like there is a staggering difference in games played.
Why lose when draw is enough?
Can’t lose many matches if you don’t qualify
