Hey deckers,
Like most of you I’ve been super into bg3, best rpg I’ve played in ages blah blah blah. But also like you guys I struggled to find settings that felt like the game was performing to its peak on the SD.
After tons of experimentation and thread searching this is what worked for me.
Stock steam deck:
Cryoutilities on recommended settings (a must)
Change RAM usage to 4g in the boot menu.
60hz refresh rate
30 fps lock
Bg3:
Medium preset
Trilinear
Fsr 1.0 ultra quality
Been getting very consistent 30fps with much less hitching and solid visuals. The game just feels good with these.
If you guys have any questions feel free to ask, but this has made the game really playable if not downright excellent on the deck.
Have yet to play in later game areas but with the performance I have I’d imagine I’d probably just have to bump shadows and cloud quality to low.
Cheers
