I'm looking to get a pair of wireless headphones to play with the steamdeck. I'd prefer wireless as I play in bed and the cables get a bit wonky all the time for me.

Any reocmmendations for bluetooth? I don't mind spending but want to keep it around $50 or so.

Will any bluetooth headphones work fine? I'm just slightly worried about latency

Hey boys and girls, I’ll be boarding a really long flight (13.5hrs) and would need some great games to play offline.

I bought rdr2 without knowing you need an internet connection to verify you own the game facepalm

Would love to hear what you guys recommend! :)

Seeing lots of quotes from Valve all my the lines of yeah you can upgrade the internal storage, but it’s a bad idea. One link I saw even said it could ruin the lifetime of your SD. That was specific to making the internal port bigger, but the other comments are in reference to a more standard upgrade. Anyone run into issues with upgrading internal storage?

I installed emudeck on my steam deck, now at this point I dont really know how to play roms. I've emulated on a pc before, but for some reason on the deck it looks very confusing to me. I've never been very computer literate and I'm wondering if theres some sort of easy to understand guide out there someone might be able to point me to.

Anyone tried this yet? Runs like a dream on the deck Gets a bit chunky when I enable aliasing though But highly recommend Reminds me of when I first put in a 3DFX card in 95

Tried out all the setting people have recommended here and nothing works. It's like I'm playing a slideshow of a game. Everything on low gives me 12fps, even on the starting menu.

Other games run fine so I presume my deck is still working properly?

Note: I don't know how this would negatively affect the game but I'm using the recommended settings on CryoUtilities.

Open to suggestions

Not really about being a loner, but a lone gamer. Could be offline or online games. Something you feel like mm-MM that was a good time.

More thoughts:

I usually have the most fun when I play with a group of friends, but as time has passed it's only once in a blue moon when my brother in law is in town we play some Warzone.

I feel like a lot of the games I play are downright stressful but I want to like enjoy my time, like something funny, enjoyable, a nice balance of action. Everything not sweaty.

I like action games, but many of them the gameplay can become more about life or death trying to survive and button mashing or intense focus where I'm super tensed up and charging up my adrenaline in a non-pleasant way.

For example of the opposite of what I am imagining for recommendations, I play NFS Unbound because I like the cars, racing and the aesthetics, but once you get in a cop chase I want to CHUCK IT ACCROSS THE ROOM! MW2 Multiplayer on my Windows partition is fun but can be sweaty and hate that its practically an FPS casino game. I have a PS5, stream all the games to my Steam Deck, trying to finally get into RDR2 but sometimes I don't want to follow a story. Just want to have fun.

I don't want to use the term "mega post", but I did want a dumping ground for thoughts and information about the game.

Here are some "general notes" so far: (if you prefer, you can watch my install/first run here)

  • GE Proton 8-4 (or later) appears to be required (I haven't tested Hotfix or Experimental yet) otherwise you lose controller support after you die and respawn. Need help getting GE-Proton installed? My video here.
  • Shaders are not included in full - although today I did see some pre-cached shaders come down. The number is 93MB (I checked). My own shaders since I started playing yesterday is almost 1GB already. So they aren't giving you a lot of shaders. Expect stutter and jitters until every map, character, ult, alternative costume, etc is seen. I'm impressed they are sending shaders at all. I will periodically take a look at what they are sending and compare them to my own. My video on shaders - my video discussing shaders in OW2. Yes, I'll be sharing my cache after the weekend is over when I've played at least a dozen hours or more.
  • No Tween Launcher is needed. None of that EA/Ubisoft/Rockstar crap. You simply link your battle net account with a QR code scanning or a web page visit.
  • Disable Dynamic Render Scale to get rid of that horrid watery look. Pic of menu here. See example in my video (time stamped) here.
  • Medium settings at 800p will get you 60fps after shaders are no longer an issue.
  • Gyro is highly recommended. If you try to use Gyro "as mouse" instead of "as joystick" it will confuse the UI and it will "flicker" between KB/M and Controller settings. If you want to use "as mouse" you'll probably have to create a whole KB/M based Steam Input. I find gyro "as joystick" fine and that's how I play.
  • Setttings won't save if you don't exit the game PROPERLY (menu->EXIT TO DESKTOP). If you're wondering why Dynamic Render Scale keeps coming back? That's why.
  • Achievements you've already earn count! That's right, if you've been playing on Battle Net? If you have previously met an achievement in any time you've played, you will immediately get it when you play on Steam. I got 56 instantly.

Love to hear your thoughts! Hope this helped someone out.

Hello everyone , while searching games i remembered this one . Zenonia. It was a super fun old school A-RPG available on mobile , with PVP. I've never found a similar game that was that fun . But i guess plenty of them exists . Big + if it have some multiplayer ! Could anyone recommand similar titles that would be playable on the steam deck ? Thanks in advance , have a good day

Just upgraded my internal 64GB eMMC to 256GB SSD and I must say, game load times and in game performance has improved significantly.

I have been using the thing for 6 months and followed the recommended settings for games I play but could not replicate the performance displayed.

Anyone else have this issue—I hadn’t played an emulated game in weeks. When I came back the save was gone, but all my other games still have their save in the folders when I checked. Any ideas? Game in question is Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga for GBA. Thanks. Only major thing that happened was my battery lost all power and shut off.
