Mine doesn’t, I was surprised when they phased it out but apparently it increased use a ton.

Nope, they went with covid. Sorting who was late and who was in quarantine was the last straw for my library. However we are now more strict with assumed lost items, and people get some sticker shock over the replacement bill.

Yeah several libraries found that the stress of returning a late item would often keep people from returning the item at all.

No, my local public library removed fines a few years ago and added auto-renewal in its place. You get three renewals and then another three-week grace period before they even send you a polite letter that says they might declare it lost if you don't return it.

No, which is awesome! Though I rarely go in anymore, because the audiobook selection is so great, and I mostly have time to listen at work.

None of the libraries in my area do late fees anymore. They just automatically renew any books I don't return on time.

No late fees at mine, and it’s been that way for years. They don’t let you check out anything else until you return the late items, though.

I actually had no idea because I always bring things back on time because I'm a square lol, but I looked it up and apparently they got rid of them during the pandemic.
