You could enter the stadium with a slogan UEFA disagrees with tattooed on a gnats arse and they would fine you.

Worth it fuck 'em

[–] Dolphin008@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ah yes the obligatory standing stairs fine, has there been a match without such fine. I’m sure it’s already budgeted.

How high does Feyenoord rank on the accumulated fines chart now? Top 3?

Can't wait to see what we get fined tonight for the Palestine displays

I wouldn't put it past their greedy asses to do a match ban for fans, the difference in treatment of Palestine and Ukraine invasions is laughably disgusting

slava ukraini vs free palestine is very much the flirting vs harrassment meme

It's a bad comparison because Ukraine is controlled by a decent government, with its population's support, fighting to protect an invasion across clearly defined borders. The moral high ground in the Israel Palestine conflict is held by the civilians on both sides, neither government can claim a clear moral high ground. Palestine is controlled half by a fundamentalist religious cult that calls for Israel to be destroyed, and even the other half is run by a moderate party whose leader wrote a doctoral thesis full of Holocaust denial.

The Ukrainian government does not call for the whole of Russia to be put under Ukrainian control, it does not call for people to kill Russian civilians in other countries, like Hamas does. It has not invaded Russia or deliberately targeted Russian civilians. This is the former Interior minister of Hamas, and current member of the legislative council:

“Seven million Palestinians outside, enough warming up, you have Jews with you in every place. You should attack every Jew possible in all the world and kill them.”

Ukraine is a simple situation. Palestine is complex, and there is no flag you can fly or slogan you can chant which represents what is needed to have a fair outcome.

Free Palestine seems pretty fair, sure much more fair that a "Enslave Palestine" flag

[–] -zimms-@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

"Enslave Palestine" flag

Never seen one of those.

Yes, "Free Palestine" is fair. "From the river to the sea" is not.

Why would they ban fans? It's just a money making scam to them. If there's no fans there'll be nothing to fine them for.

Did Ukrainian spend the last 100 years murdering Russian civilians? Did Ukrainian groups attack Russian civilians in cafes and buses? Did Ukrainian groups attack schools and murder Russian children? Did Ukrainian groups snipe Russian babies?

Did a Ukrainian militia rampage through a Russian town raping Russian women on top of the bodies of their murdered friends, tie children and parents together and the burn them alive while live-streaming it?

No?

Then the two situations aren’t remotely the same.

Last time I checked ukraine wasn't under a naval and land blockede for over a decade either. If they were it would've sparked outrage in the west

[–] bcotrim@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That's why no politics should be displayed on the field. It was the same with the BLM, you could have that on shirts but not against China treatment of the Uyghur, for example

Politics can still be discussed by footballers and in the media around it, but during the game, football should be the only show, otherwise you're just using it to push your beliefs

€17.500 for a "fuck Celtic" banner which is like 1.5m x 1.5m lmfao

It's a money making scheme for them at this point. Nobody is offended by that flag and even if they were, that's part of football.

The fines we're going to get tonight for Palestine flags will make that look cheap.

Weren't supporter groups of Feyenoord and Celtic not friends, or am I misremembering?

[–] walshybhoy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

We did rob them for Larsson. £650k is surely one of the best all-time transfers. Sorry lads.

[–] groenefiets@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hence it is such a small sign.

[–] timfeyenoord@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Most Feyenoord fans like Celtic yeah. There's a section of the more fanatical (right-wing) fans that do not like Celtic because of their "leftist" and "woke" views.

It's an odd relationship that seems to be largely based on playing in the 1970 European cup final and a mutual dislike for Ajax more than anything.

[–] -zimms-@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Saying this is a "fuck Celtic" banner is leaving out a lot of context. It's politics, that's probably why they got fined.

The banner shows a "no terrorists" sign. Celtic fans previously voiced their support for Palestine. You can figure out the rest.

That’s tonights dinner sorted for Ceferin

Everytime i see a post about somethig uefa related it has to do with the most soft and crybaby fines.

The other day there were hundreds of comments offended because rivals made fun of Charlton.

As a governing body, you can do a lot better than fining clubs every season. Hell, we went to the moon. You’re telling me they can’t mitigate this to much greater extents than currently? Please

[–] Roidracer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Crud Celtic banner next time I guess.
