Its funny because the summer of 2022 Barça wanted to sue De Jong because they said his contract was "illegal" (alongside Busquets, Pique or basically whoever had a big contract).

If my memory is correct FDJ got put on huge wages because both Barca and PSG wanted to sign him and this was shortly after the Neymar deal so Barca didn't want to lose face to PSG again.
